Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 4 September 2022 Posted 4 September 2022 I would just like to remind people he went down with West Brom as captain (I think) without a whimper…
Swalker Posted 5 September 2022 Posted 5 September 2022 (edited) We're 7 games into a shocking start to the season and our captain is still yet to do a single post match interview on LCFC TV. I'm not sure who decides which player does the post match interview but in previous seasons Wes & Kasper would always face the music after a few of poor performances. Brentford - Castagne Arsenal - Praet Southampton - Vardy Stockport - Iversen (Evans didn't play this one so can be let off) Chelsea - Castagne Man Utd - Thomas Brighton - Daka Seems alarming that only 1 of the 'leadership group' has been interviewed, and 3 of them have been with Rodgers' scapegoats (Castagne seems to be this season's scapegoat for Brendan for reasons unknown) Edited 5 September 2022 by Swalker Typo

Brave really as Timmy in particular is generally quite honest (maybe that's why he is now warming the bench) I am surprised it hasn't been Evans. Kasper would always take the more difficult ones. I wonder who does decide? Maybe they pick straws ha! Edited 5 September 2022 by Hales

We still await our club captain to front up to these performances 2
Eskay Posted 8 October 2022 Posted 8 October 2022 ****ing crap as well. Such a myth that he can still play at the top level.
Matt Posted 10 October 2022 Posted 10 October 2022 Evans: “We invited the pressure.” You don’t fucking say? No fucking shit Sherlock. That’s what happens when you aimless play it round the back having possession for possessions sake without actually doing anything.

It’s painful watching this team when I remember how dynamic and offensive we were in 2019-20. 2
Supergray22 Posted 23 October 2022 Posted 23 October 2022 I’d be tempted to keep youri as captain now. Might persuade him to stay on. Brings out the best in the team and results say it all. I love evans but he will always be picking up injuries sadly. I’d like to see Evans 9stay on with us in some capacity when he retires as he is a great lad and seems like a smart guy and proper professional (other than the taxi incident). Wout as vice captain. Kdh will step up one day if he stays with us and stays fit.

Supergray22 Posted 23 October 2022 Posted 23 October 2022 Just now, Goober said: Giving him the armband will do absolutely nothing in persuading him to stay Possibly not but it is worth a shot and either way if it helps the team right now then it’s the right thing to do.
StanSP Posted 23 October 2022 Posted 23 October 2022 Form has changed significantly since he's been out the side...

Leicester_Loyal Posted 1 March 2023 Posted 1 March 2023 Making him captain was a barmy decision. Please for the love of God do not give him another contract, although it wouldn't surprise me to see we extend it. 1 1
HankMarvin Posted 1 March 2023 Posted 1 March 2023 (edited) When I looked at his salary it showed his final year had gone up 20k to 100k a week Edited 1 March 2023 by HankMarvin
davieG Posted 3 March 2023 Posted 3 March 2023 https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/unsettled-leicester-city-captaincy-doesnt-8209477 Unsettled Leicester City captaincy 'doesn't help' as Brendan Rodgers sets out transfer plan City have had six different players start a game with the armband this season, with James Maddison set to take on the role of skipper for the fixture at Southampton ByJordan Blackwell 07:00, 3 MAR 2023 The Leicester City captain’s armband has been around the squad like a game of pass the parcel this season. While that is far from ideal, Brendan Rodgers has said the club will look to recruit even more players capable of being the team’s leader when they revamp their squad this summer. With club captain Jonny Evans having played just one game since October, with deputy skipper Marc Albrighton out on loan, and with third-choice Youri Tielemans left out of the line-up before his recent injury, City have not had a consistent wearer of the armband all season. The remainder of the leadership group – Jamie Vardy, James Maddison, and Wilfred Ndidi – have all taken the responsibility at some point this campaign too. That’s different from the past few seasons, as even when Wes Morgan was the club captain, his backseat role allowed Kasper Schmeichel to take the armband, with the Dane a consistent presence in the side. Rodgers said that while he would have preferred to have had only one player lead out the team, he does have faith in all of those he has given the responsibility to. And he wants the club to look for players with the personality of a leader when they go shopping in the summer transfer window to freshen up the squad. “It doesn’t help,” Rodgers said of the constant changing of the armband. “The guys that have led the team are within our leadership group anyway. Because Jonny’s not been playing that’s been put out to those guys. Any of those I trust to lead the team out. “It’s been unfortunate that Jonny has been injured. He’s the club captain. Marc’s on loan. It’s also been really good to see some of the players respond. James Maddison thrived on it and you saw his leadership qualities even just having the armband. “It’s something that if you can have a captain who plays each week, it gives that stability. But how it’s worked out, some of the other guys have had to take it and they’ve had the pride of leading the club out.” He added: “That’s definitely a part of the recruitment going forward. You need players with personality. There’s no doubt about that. That will be a key focus for us with the recruitment side.”
David Hankey Posted 7 March 2023 Posted 7 March 2023 It seems Northern Ireland seem to know more than we do as Evans as been selected for the Euro 2024 qualifiers. It would be nice for him to put in an appearance for us.
Lonsdalefox Posted 7 March 2023 Posted 7 March 2023 Let him go at the end of the season. No chance he would cope with even a 3rd of the 46 games in the champ. 2

Popular Post funkyrobot Posted 16 March 2023 Popular Post Posted 16 March 2023 Can’t get my head round how Jonny Evans is called up for the Northern Ireland Squad but can’t get and keep himself fit for Leicester. This is not the first time. From Rodgers’ press conference today it sounds very unlikely that he’ll be fit for Brentford and yet he’ll be away for the international break. He’s been out long term and the club shouldn’t be allowing this. If you aren’t ever fit to play for your club you shouldn’t be suddenly fit for your country. 7

Yeh presumably it’s the same Illness that kept him out last weekend as well. Must be a bad one. Can’t see how he’s going to get another contract though unless it’s a pay as you play deal.
baldeagle Posted 21 April 2023 Posted 21 April 2023 Seems like he decides himself when he wants to play get rid . 4
