Maddison looked to give the support the finger. Him and Tielemans were angry over Youri pointing at the badge and fans giving him some back.

Youri pointing at the badge is laughable

Were our fans booing or singing derogatory chants about Tielemans? What happened with him and Maddison at the end?

I think I saw a bloke make hand gestures about signing a contract (hinting at Youri to sign a new contract), to which Youri responded by holding his badge. I think a few fans then started giving him sh1t. So I understand his reaction, let's be honest, the fans aren't really being very kind to the team as a whole right now. The atmosphere in the ends is not pleasant.

Tielemans over the last year has made a point of being more animated and passionate in front of the fans. I’d like to think it’s his way of showing his appreciation for the club. Clearly he didn’t think he’d still have to be doing it into this season.

...pretty much a wake up call!!!

He hasn't been good for some time and this will-he-won't- he saga has not helped!!!

He will not be going anywhere and will be here next season, I wish he would show that passion in games and get as fired up. He should be the man to lead us,  ideally placed in the pitch, and carries experience,  yet he is the least likely person you would look to, for any kind of leadership or inspiration.

If tonight's incident serves to push him out the door this window, then great, we need the money, but if it finally wakes him up to the fact that playing with minimum effort doesn't help the team, and I  hope it forces him to work on his game and fitness, he has had an easy ride, you would have thought his experience at Monaco would have been the lesson for change.

Was palpable as soon as you walked in that end last night. A lot of pent up frustration.

I can’t understand the angst displayed by our own fans towards Tielemans. He’s not thrown his toys out the pram and he’s just not signed a new contract here because it looks like he wants a new challenge.
Can you blame him honestly?? We are a club in a mess and the players must know this.
That said, his form is what worries me. I think he’s still ‘trying’, but just doesn’t look the player he was.

BUT you can say that about all of them. Minus Maddison

This is what bugs me so much about pundits/outsiders. They all think that because things were half decent a couple of years ago we’re just meant to eat shit as soon as it turns a bit sour. It’s rubbish and we can be so much better than we are.

Guess it depends which way you look at it, the same point of view phrased differently would be, why would a club like ours expect to good/competing every single season? We probably can’t, but I get this is hardly an outlier of a season. Shades of grey I guess. :dunno:

(this is in no way a comment on Rodgers btw)

Nothing I've seen suggests Youri isn't trying, just that his form has dipped. In comparison to Fofana, Youri is giving it a go and has every right to feel aggrieved by some of the comments directed towards him. I think the anger needs to be directed solely at Brendan because the way they were set up and told to play just wasn't working. When Maddison and KDH came on, it was a big improvement.

Why? Would you prefer him pulling a "Fofana"? He's training with the team, he's playing and he's committing so far to his current contract. This is the reason he's pointed at the badge. His bad or average performances are irrelevant and you have another 100 factors around the team that may cause players to underperform.

Why?

He won us the FA Cup, he's gotten on with his job and given his all for years and he's acting like a pro.

It's not his fault nobody wants to buy him and he isn't obligated to sign a new deal. He's done a lot for this club and has earned the right to be left alone by our fans.

Glad you asked, was trying to figure out quite what Youri had done. Surely it can’t be the won’t sign a contract crap still?

Certainly looks like he doesn’t care either…

I mean something's clearly a little off based on him being dropped for Southampton, I've got no issue with him not signing a new deal or anything like that though, ultimately he can do what he likes. Probably not the best time to be pointing at the badge after Rodgers threw him under the bus by saying his head wasn't in the right place or whatever.

Another thing: I hope any kind of post match protests directed to individual players will stop right away. It's fair and logical booing as a fans collective at the final whistle. After this if some of our fans want to speak to players they can officially 15-20 of them send a request to the board and they might get the permission to have a civilised discussion with our players and management before or after a training session.

We were playing a team parking the bus & a real banana skin playing a team well up for it under the lights. We had 78% possession & managed 26 shots on goal to 6, but couldn't get it in the net. Got to penalties which was their game plan at the end with their fans, & we showed the mental strength to come through.

If we'd have won our first 3 games of the season, people would have been happy with that.

I get we've had 3 disappointing league results beforehand, but the toxic posts in this thread are out of context given we've actually gone through tonight, and it feels to me that the general view is that people were predetermined to rant and are a bit disappointed we got through. Difficult to believe this is meant to be a forum of people of support Leicester City...

Ok. Comments but l think you may misunderstand, the title of this forum is "Foxestalk"  not "Brendantalk",  we are ALL city fans here and although Rodgers clearly disagrees he is certainly NOT bigger than our club - OUR club - not the frauds club to ruin.

I and many others who care about our future will keep saying what is clear and obvious - this clueless Emporer not only has no clothes but no ideas either.

Last night we were made to look ridiculous and the buck stops with him.

Would never ever happen.

Iverson class above tonight and needs to start Saturday but probably won’t happen..

Don't get this eulogising Iversen. Stockport had one shot on target during the game which he easily saved. He was a virtual spectator in the second half. He was great in the penalty shootouts. Their penalties were not great but he saved them. Fair play. More importantly for me is that shootouts have nothing to do with game goalkeeping.

Personally, I don't think we saw anything last night to change opinion on our GKs. He did nothing wrong, but nothing out of the ordinary either.
