Tanner has said the same as Percy. Sure some of this is trying to stop other clubs trying to get more money out of us following the Fofana deal.

But there won’t be many more signings for sure unless there are other departures.

We crying out only loans through the media but purchase a player for 15m today

How to say "you aren't backing the manager" without actually saying you aren't backing the manager.

And maybe they don’t want to get rid of him because they can’t afford to back a new manager either. Sounds like we are truly stuck, wouldn’t be planning any European tour anytime soon

Yeah, there is a lot of expectation management going on.

Not often a specific percentage is leaked, the club are doing this deliberately to negotiate better deals.

But it’s generally clear we don’t have a big budget so need to maximise what we have through clever negotiations.

Is the sell on fee of the profit or whole fee? It’s still not clear.

If it’s the whole fee it’s 18m

plus 35m or 40m what ever he cost.

Potentially £58m or £53m cost

Means £14m or £19m profit.

Not including a loyalty bonus.

Has been reported as profit by multiple sources.

Once again it makes absolutely no sense. We didn't want to sell Fofana this summer, nor did we need to but possibly had in mind cashing in next summer either out of necessity or because we wanted more funds for the rebuild. Either way, selling him now and then claiming we can't spend the money when transfers are amortised over the entire length of the players contract once again contradicts our financial position.

Watford would take a £5m loan fee and another £20m next summer anyway. Its baffling, the only 2 possibilities I can make sense of is o ce again not trusting Brendan and trying to force him out or keeping our powder dry to sell up (don't like this angle though I must admit)

I'm pretty sure all sell on fees are only on the profit, as if the player was not a success and we sold them for less than we signed them for it would not be fair to to pay the original club a percentage and make even more of a loss.

So the club didn't want or need to sell Fofana this summer but now we are selling him we can only spend 33% of what we get for him 🤔

I’ve got all of my hope on that we just don’t want Brendan near a rebuild.

Assuming Faes is done and Youri goes…

What I would like:

Lacroix,

Aouer,

Chukwueze.

What I expect,

Mings,

Garner,

Traore

I would like to see any of the 3 you expect coming in! :D

Significantly stretching the boundaries of realistic, but I'd love to see us...

Sell Fofana 75m, buy W.Faes 17m

Sell Veste 10m, buy M.Lacroix 20m

Sell Perez 10m, buy A.Traore 15m

Sell Praet 10m, buy J.Bowler 5m

Total sale = 105m, ~55m to reinvest

Total spend = 57m

After a summer wanting us to sell Tielemans, now I hope we keep him. While a happy squad is better, Youri is a professional and will see his contract out with better performances than the replacement CMs we have been linked with.

25 man squad would be...

3x GKs: Ward, Iversen, Smithies

4x FBs: Castagne, Justin, Pereira, Thomas

5x CBs: Evans, Lacroix, Faes, Soyuncu, Amartey

5x CMs: Tielemans, Ndidi, KDH, Soumare, Mendy

5x AMs: Maddison, Barnes, Traore, Bowler, Albrighton

3x FWs: Vardy, Nacho, Daka

(+ Bertrand, who can have a squad place if Thomas doesn't count!)

What an absolute shower this summer has been, club must be a toxic place to be. Not looking forward to this season at all. On the upside, my expectations are so low that as long as we aren’t bottom 3 come the end of the season I won’t be disappointed.

We will sign David Luiz 2.0 and maybe loan a player, which means they might be good enough as a squad filler. Lookman going looks a stupid mistake now.
