Has to be players downing tools no?

This is what frustrates me.

It doesn't matter that they are a 90% different set of players to the ones who downed tools for Ranieri or Puel, there is an obvious pattern that keeps repeating.

Also, players downing tools because they want to move to a bigger club, then, they suddenly play their hearts out once they get there.

Top should not be allowing any of this to happen. Not the manager, nor the players.

Call me Mr Thicky……. But if someone is doing a terrible job, objectively, how come they can’t be gotten rid of without a huge payout?

You do wonder if there are any performance related clauses in his contract, it wouldn’t have been unreasonable to tie his basic salary to an expected level of performance, which we are obviously well below.

No idea whether the above is the case or not, hopefully it is!

Anyone have some idea of how much straight relegation would cost ?

Of course there will then be a rush to sell more players to "balance the books"

£25 million for madders, if we are lucky ?

A lot more than sacking Rodgers....if we are relegated things are bleak as parachute payments are a guarantee against a loan so we will not get any money

As with all jobs performance is measured by objectives. Depending on what his objectives are for the season, despite our lowly present position he still has enough games and theoretical points to turn it around. If European football is an objective for instance he has two cups and enough league games remaining to achieve it.

He probably hasn’t passeda threshold for gross misconduct

Also fact is that we finished 8th last year with half of the squad missing with long term injuries.

This season they were initially all back fit, like having new signings to build on 8th including Fofana.

He of course has left but we still have a lot of decent players. I think Rodgers slow drip pessimism has taken effect on you as well as the players.

Without blue tinted glasses on I recognise that we're in the mire and were never heading into Europe.

Rationally though, we have plenty in the squad to finish mid table and push on next season. Rodgers played one way pre-season with certain players and another when it started. Still square pegs in round holes, poor tactics and substitutions and we wonder why last seasons relegation form in the second half of the season is being repeated? It was as obvious as the nose on your face how it was going to pan out all things considered.

We can easily survive and get mid table as long as we get rid of Rodgers who's a malignant cancer in the camp right away. Every game is important. We need a new manager now!

I think there’s a lot more to it than simply sacking Dodgers. Let me make it clear (again), he needs to go. The players are clearly not believing in him anymore.

But last season is exactly that. Last season.

THIS season, clubs have spent a lot of money to try to cement their Premiership survival and status. We have spent sod all. We also have a squad many of whom clearly want out, but are too poor (or on stupidly inflated wages) for anyone else to want them.

AND we’ve sold our best player.

So…. THIS season is very different. Whether simply replacing the manager will suddenly propel us into a top half side is just hypothesis. I think we have a troubled and poor squad

And William Wilberforce

One more defeat and it will be our worst start in our history. 1984(?) 6 defeats followed by a draw against Stoke.

Did our heads drop when we went to a back 3? Yes we looked at six’s and sevens at the back but our attacking intent was there, we get the 3rd goal and it could have been different.

justin was a strange one, pulls inside so much their winger had space and time to run in the box

Other teams signing a few players doesn't equate to a team who finished 8th last year ending up rock bottom on 1 point after 6 games. Brighton have sold two of their best players, haven't directly replaced them and are still doing well.

Our best player, who we sold, missed most of last season, and whilst we missed him, not this much.

This is solely on Rodgers, his poor recruitment (well from the recruitment team he brought in) signing useless players on big wages, his persistence with choose Amartey over Soyuncu whatever the issue with the Turk is, his negative tactics in games that give the opposition attack momentum. If some of the players are down, or would like to move, it's his job at £10m a year to get them smiling again and realising the situation they are in.

A change of manager, a change in attitude is what we need. Feels very much like Newcastle last year. In reality Howe didn't change tok much in January, certainly didn't bring anyone in from November to January, but the change in the club from when Bruce was in charge was instantly noticeable.

That’s not only our club where this is a pattern.

At happens at most football clubs. Even most workplaces but football has a very more obvious outlet where it manifests

Well I’m hoping we get the chance to put this theory to the test. And I thought you were an Amartey fan? Now you’re not?

As I've said on numerous occasions, I'm fine with him being a squad player, to fill in when players are rested or injured. If everyone is fit, he behind all our centre back except Vestergaard and shouldn't be starting.

We're so far off the level required for the Premier League. We're the worst team by a distance. We will struggle to stay up.

Do you attribute this solely to Rodgers?

As in, if/when he goes we’ll be much better?
