Looking at HYS on BBC. Strange how many people have a lack of empathy for folk outside their own area if the weather is not as extreme where they are.

It's almost as if a lot of people are so self centred that they can't comprehend the issue until it's affecting them personally.

 

It's also as if, when such people can and do affect policy for everyone in a democratic system, that is a massive flaw of that same system that might need looking into.

We did have some rain overnight in NW leics but not much. It's just rained again, dark now so difficult to tell if it was much.

Early harvesting to prevent loss of produce. Never a a good thing. A bit like picking your own fruit/veg before it's properly ripe and hoping it reaches peak ripeness whilst stored in your cupboard, but on a huge scale.

The comparisons with 1976 are just stupid, Yes it was dry for several weeks but the current factors weren't as relevant 50 years ago. We didn't understand as much as we do now. We all thought it was just a much enjoyed, hot dry summer. Little did we know...

I remember the self centred comments when dealing with delivery complaints during severe winter snow. Often someone would say no snow in my road. Then pointing out to them the parcel had to travel a hundred miles plus from the warehouse to their address on roads badly affected by the weather. I should add these were luxury items not every day essentials. Often the delay was little more than half a day.

Yeah they seem to have gone in really early this year.Late June and the combines were out.Where as it’s usually from about now through to August
