To be fair, our fortunes turned when they came in for the Great Escape and now they’ve gone…

It’s like how that Statue of Liberty near the stadium went down just before we turned shite and got put back up just before we rose again.

The universe works in strange ways!

Is one needed? lol

Given they improved the atmosphere and our results yes.

So I take it like a lot of other things at the moment it just happened with nothing even said to match goers?

Yes letting many get involved instead of just the few singers, when the home games were on tv you could hear the clappers a lot as well and it sounds pretty nice as a means of fan involvement.

I suppose the view towards them is down to if you a traditionalist or not.  I thought they were a good thing.   Better than the usual shouting foul language at players for sure.

You seriously enjoyed the sound of people smashing their clappers against their knees for 90 mins?

Let them get involved how, by giving them the ability to clap?

I don't oppose them because they're not traditional, but because it's a lot of money, materials and energy to spend on something whose effects can be replicated without a great deal of difficulty by just banging your hands together instead, and because it's refreshing to see a goal go in or the final whistle blown without having to duck for cover as all the twats in the rows behind launch their clappers at the back of your head like javelins.

And it sounded terrible! Genuinely shocked anyone thought otherwise.

Ask the fans of any other club in any other league if they wished they had their own personal bit of cardboard so that they could get involved in the game. People do get involved. They use the things on the end of their arms and their mouth, to get behind an d encourage the team. People didn't magically stop swearing and slap a tacky bit of cardboard like some sort of bleep machine lol
