Scotch Posted 6 February 2023 Posted 6 February 2023 Just saw there that since the WC. Faes has scored more goals for Liverpool than anyone who actually plays for Liverpool. 2

Wymsey Posted 6 February 2023 Posted 6 February 2023 He seems to be the sort of player who will have a good few games, but then becomes a liability in another.
Tommy Fresh Posted 11 February 2023 Posted 11 February 2023 Great positive tackle to start the build up for the second 1
Vacamion Posted 11 February 2023 Posted 11 February 2023 Immense today. Harry Kane will have needed a night light down there in Wout's pocket. 2 1
SecretPro Posted 11 February 2023 Posted 11 February 2023 Always has been a great. Showing now he's playing alongside an actual CB.
Tommy Fresh Posted 11 February 2023 Posted 11 February 2023 Nice to see those that batter him after a mistake are also quick to state the positives....... 3
Eden De Bruyne Posted 11 February 2023 Posted 11 February 2023 Great game again. World class defender 70% of the games
SafewayFox Posted 11 February 2023 Posted 11 February 2023 I stick with what I have consistently said about Wout. Pretty much everyone over hyped him as better than Fofana pre WC but then he got wrongly accused of being “5hit” recently. He’s a good CB and one of the few recent signings (before this window) who makes our starting 11.
fazzyfox Posted 11 February 2023 Posted 11 February 2023 That tackle on horse face that lead to a goal…, pint for Faes 1
Guest Col city fan Posted 11 February 2023 Posted 11 February 2023 (edited) Looks more confident and able to play ‘his natural game’. He’ll still produce clangers, he’s that type of defender. But if he can continue to forge a r ship with Souttar, he’ll be fine. Edited 11 February 2023 by Col city fan
SafewayFox Posted 19 February 2023 Posted 19 February 2023 I’m not wanting to bomb him out of the squad and say “GET RID” but an upgrade in the summer would definitely be a good thing. I still preferred Cags as a CB when he was on it and surely Faes has had as many brain fart moments yet doesn’t get half the hate? 1

Bet you loved his tackle on Kane last week to help set up one of our goals though? 1
SafewayFox Posted 19 February 2023 Posted 19 February 2023 Just now, StanSP said: Bet you loved his tackle on Kane last week to help set up one of our goals though? I thought it was good but the momentum today after his needless and brain dead fizz of a ball into the danger zone as a CB is one of MANY errors that he has been part of since with us. As I said, not asking to bomb him out of the squad like a certain rubbish Danish CB BUT the differing slack he gets compared to Cags on here baffles me.
KingsX Posted 19 February 2023 Posted 19 February 2023 Wout has all the physical ability -- and the skills -- to be a star in this League. What he doesn't have, we've sadly seen confirmed too many times, is the footballing brain. He's brave, he plays aggressively, I can't help liking him. BUT ...

We've been all over them but a moment of miscommunication between him and Souttar but you can't fault him for the goal.

He is under ZERO pressure and fizzes a ball into the middle of the pitch past Mendy and then doesn’t drop back either. A much slower and zero Cruyff turning version of Cags from his first season. 1
martyn Posted 19 February 2023 Posted 19 February 2023 He is basically Soyuncu in terms of his defending, minus his pace but with a better mentality. 1
Bozman Posted 19 February 2023 Posted 19 February 2023 He's a fooking bomb scare at times, his fault for the goal and if he rolls round in agony like all the twats do, united would be down to 10 men..
