The worst part of us not having Kasper and being subjected to Danny Ward, is that if Kasper was still here he's probably the only voice Top would be willing to listen to when it comes to Brendan needing fcukin off. Cruel

Think I said it in another topic, but yes we'd be mid table with Kasper in goal...

I agree, I know it’s easy to say despite out shit defense and Kasper’s lack of form, but ffs I’ve watched the lad for 11 years I know what he can and cannot do, and I’m confident we wouldn’t be below at least 12-13th place had we kept him.

Even if you take his skill out of the equation, he was very vocal and would organize the defense somewhat. totally love Evans but he’s not very vocal as a captain..

Kasper was always known to have a bit of a mean attitude to ground staff or anyone who wasn’t up to his ‘ world class player’ attitude. Even a grain of sand  on his gloves  and he’d go off on the ground staff about it. So a new club who don’t know him added with the fact that age might mean he hasn’t got the ability to go with the attitude any more was always a potential banana skin for him..

he’d be better than Ward but because of his age, for how much longer?. It might be a backwards step…

There is no backwards step when Ward is concerned

Exactly this. Plenty will tell you he was an utter arse in his first years at Leicester but he got humbled a bit.

We miss his leadership more than his goalkeeping for me

I have been a lurker for a good few years but now I made this account because I wanted to comment on this. I'm from Denmark, so I have followed this whole Kasper situation closely because the Danish media has reported heavily on it and while some of the criticisms like the body fat percentage and speaking to the board behind the manager's back might be valid, he seems to be getting a lot of unnecessary slack. BT just wrote an article on the newest L'Équipe article and the attitude problems listed was him making a suggestion to make breakfast optional rather than compulsory, which was viewed as him enforcing his own rules, and him wanting more autonomy when it comes to managing his training, which he has spoken about several times, how he has to manage himself because he can no longer train like he did when he was younger. During the break for the national teams, he denied the reports he had been late for team meetings and our coach was very strong in his defence of him. He also revealed he has been playing with a broken toe, something that was never announced by Nice and was left unreported by the French media.

The bloke’s a baller who doesn’t take any shit from anyone, and that’s exactly what we’re missing. We’ve gone soft. I’d take him back in a heartbeat if it meant having another player who fvcking cares, because sadly some of them don’t seem to.

Probably one of the only people with the balls to tell Top to sack Rodgers

Nah I reckon Vardy could have a lot of influence on decisions if he wanted to.

Think he's always had a questionable attitude and I've also heard on more than one occasion he was instrumental to the numerous occasions players have turned on managers at this club.

I guess he was Mr Leicester so got away with it more here.

I'd still have him back in a flash.

Thanks for the insight. Do you think it’s a complete non story, or do you think there’s a genuine clash between Kasper and the club (even if it’s justified on his part) and that he might move on?

I was absolutely gutted when he left. I doubt he would ever come back as it would be too awkward and he’s moved on now, but I would hate for his career to fizzle out.

I think it's a bit of both. I think there's definitely a clash there, he's probably being more closely managed and controlled and he doesn't love that but a lot is pure media sensationalism. Per example, currently they're making a big deal about him refusing to warm up before matches that he's on the bench for but realistically, he's right. He won't be getting on that pitch unless something serious happens and he's still nursing an injury a month and a half before the world cup starts. I wouldn't warm up either. I think he might leave if the situation doesn't change. He doesn't seem to be someone to be content with his current situation.

Remember when half this forum wanted him gone because he couldn't kick

Well now we have Danny Ward who is clearly allergic to the ball.

But Top must have listened to Brendan in telling him that Kasper needs ****ing off, no?

I'm sure those who wanted Kasper replaced wanted a new goalkeeper, not Danny Ward!

I would personally go and pick him up if it meant we could have him back in goal until the end of the season.

Make him player manager with Huth as his assistant
