Who exactly is your audience here? No one finds you funny

My audience? 😆 What are you on about?

I posted a news update cause nobody had yet. I thought you should know before you went out all night to celebrate Hamilton’s p2.

I actually thought he had a great weekend. More upbeat, composed and competitive than usual. Obviously now we know why, but he completely dominated Russell in a car that may well have been illegal too.

On that point, once they’ve found one Mercedes and Ferrari to be illegal, how are they not checking the other?

Or all the cars.

It's random and only a select few get looked at.

Seems rather unfair.

We'd probably hear more about it if there was any sort of title race.

Right. I get that they can't check every car for everything, but if Hamilton's car is illegal because of a Mercedes error surely it's extremely likely that Russell's is too?

I suppose they're packed up and shipped pretty quickly after the race to the next one a few days later so maybe it was already too late by then.

Hamilton disqualified from the race and stripped of his p2. Leclerc also disqualified.

So this big new floor upgrade turned out to be illegal. Mercedes resorting to cheating then. lol Max is just too good for them.

Only 5 hundredths of a millimetre too low! I'm amazed the FIA even measure at those tiny discrepancies.

I'm not sure even you or the biggest Hamilton haters could think that Mercedes could engineer that precise sort of tiny advantage when it's randomly getting worn down constantly through the race.

Yeah it’s hardly going to be an issue going forward in terms of the upgrade. Good to see Mercedes moving forward, disappointing that a good result was wiped sure but let’s face it it is going to really impact the season.

Did Canada and Australia working as a track marshal.

Any stories?  The guy I marshalled with had a few, but he had to quit due to health issues :(  (Haven't seen/heard about him in years, now, though.)

Red Bull going over the budget gap was marginal but people on here wanted them thrown out of the sport, Horner arrested, Verstappen stripped of all his wins etc.

Funny how it’s an honest mistake when Mercedes break the rules but a big conspiracy when it’s anyone else.

I'd imagine that's because one was deliberate and the other wasn't.

The excuses for not checking every car seem so ****ing daft to me lol, hire more staff then or keep the cars longer at the track. If you’re going to enforce the rule and have a high percentage of the test pool found guilty of infringement then it makes no sense, get rid or check every car

Their excuse showed how poorly they are run. No one asked them to check every regulation for every car, but when they do a random checks on 1 regulation and over x% fail (ie 50% fail) then check every car for that 1 regulation - it’s not that much extra work and won’t happen that often

1-2 for Ferrari on the grid.

Look forward to them finishing 5th/6th in the race .

Daniel Ricciardo 4th!

What happened to Norris?

Ferrari are interesting, quicker than Merc & McL on mediums in Q1, but this season can’t save tyres so I expect them to go backwards.

Ricciardo - Wow, get him back in that Red Bull! I thought his times in Q1 & Q2 were because Yuki was giving him a tow, but he did it without the tow in Q3

Didn’t see why Norris abandoned his first lap in Mediums, it was nothing spectacular, but I expect would have seen him through. 2nd lap got it completely sideways

Alonso spinning, Amateur error that helped him into Q2 - call me suspicious

No sanctions for Verstappen or Russell for creating a traffic jam in the pitlane.

They need to do something as that isn't right, clogging the end of the pitlane up. It shouldn't be allowed stopping there during a session.

I'm sure the first time it happens at an event where Verstappen isn't guilty of doing it, the penalties will flow

Oh Checo!

Almost wanted it too much and basically got caught out.

No doubt had it been Verstappen the pass would have been completed and nothing going wrong .

Excellent drive from Norris to get decent points and pleased Riccardo did too .

Max has been sensational again. Lion of a champion. 3x just like that!

Yes I do think he's a top driver.. But I don't like, since before Schumacher days.. It's 70-75% car! At least around those years, bloody cars were unreliable, allowing 2-4 other drivers to steal the limelight now and again..

We could cover over a 5 year period, and 3 of the best ever racers, Alonso, Hamilton, Verstappen, have not had one period where they have competed against each other..Also  Other potentials not had a chance to throw their tupenny worth in.

I would be interested to see Max 2021 and Checo 2023 side by side, but my initial thoughts are Max had more space and still chose to stay further on the outside just in case.

Checo had the move done, just needed to stay wider and he would have the inside line at turn 2 where he would park it on the apex
