Great idea for a thread :-) the coldest we have ever been at a game, Me ? can`t remember the year but it was Blackpool away in the FA cup, night match so could have been a replay, absolutely Baltic !!

Southend v Bury in an FA Cup 2nd Round Replay at a literally freezing Roots Hall. I heard after the game, someone in one of the executive boxes opened the window, shouted "IT'S MINUS TWO!" and then shut the window back into his heated box.

Blackpool away in the relegation season was absolutely grim as well. An oil tanker had grounded just off the coast due to the winds. Lost to an injury time Paul Dickov goal. Character building

  • Wolves earlier this season. Proper cold day, coupled with getting caught in an enormous downpour on the way to the ground and a biting side wind making my cold, wet clothes even colder. Lost 2-1, long walk back to the car. Best bit was the pyro before the game, the heat was amazing
  • Ipswich snow game 2010. Just wanted to go home instead of wait forever in the snow delay. 3-0 down already, pointless exercise. Long coach home
  • Chelsea FA Cup 2018. Was mid March but baltic. Went to extra time and genuinely my knee joints were so cold it took a while before I could walk properly. Awful

Can't remember the coldest but does anyone remember the rain at the League 1 Stockport home game?

Was 1-1 after about 5 minutes and thought we were in for a cracker, then it lashed it down with rain that made it high into the stands and **** all else happened for 85 mins lol

The Friday snow day night game against Middlesbrough in the championship

I wasn't there but the Ipswich game away when Keane was their manager must have been horrendous.  Snow was everywhere and the ball barely rolled.  It should have been called off but was played as was on the tele.  Lost 3-1 I think as well.

Kerrea Gilbert's only career football league goal. And it was a shit cross that found its way in.

Conditions were terrible considering games have been called off for a lot less. However tbf calling it off 0-3 would have probably been unfair considering Ipswich on day were probably better than us. If had only been 0-1 then it would have been different. I seen to recall a game between Portsmouth and Leicester in 2002 the pitch was waterlogged but somehow the game went on and we won 2-0

Tbf, Miguel Vitor got a muscle injury and was out for about 3 months in that game after slipping iirc so we probably had a right to complain that it should’ve been called off. I think the game was stopped even a couple of times but play was resumed

If I remember right the sky TV director kept going down to speaking to the ref. Many say he was pressuring the ref to contuine the match.

Those are terrible TV picks tbh

Guess they hope Cardiff v Leeds will be dirty and violent like in 2002 whilst Sheff Wednesday against Newcastle is two big teams in very different situations.

Liverpool v Wolves does seem odd to me - be 2 reserve sides trying to lose .

Yep, I was there, absolutely frozen!

Hold your breath on it being a 3pm kick-off - apparently the FA are doing their bullshit of staggering the games for 'international broadcast'. Spurs fans reckon their tie is at 12.30 (albeit that might have something to do with 9k Pompey in attendance).

Wonder if they will also wait until the opposition is known (in our case).
