Leicester City’s FA Cup third-round tie has been brought forward to a 12.30 kick-off.

City will travel to either League Two strugglers Gillingham or non-league outfit Dagenham and Redbridge on Saturday, January 7. The destination will be decided this Thursday, when the clubs face off in a second-round replay at Gillingham’s Priestfield Stadium.

While not selected for UK TV, the match has been moved to a lunchtime kick-off to accommodate overseas coverage. That means it will be an early start for City fans no matter whether they are travelling to East London or to Kent, with interest expected to be high among away supporters for what are rare trips.

To satisfy overseas coverage. Well that's nice of us fans.

Are you new to this? Should know we are the last people the clubs/tv companies think about.

Magic of the cup until round 3, when TV money for the likes of D&G is overlooked for an opportunity to watch Man Utd/Liverpool reserves face Everton/Wolves reserves

Not new just sarcastic. This down to the FA not the PL this time so much for being the guardians of English Fans.

Boxing day against Liverpool a couple of seasons ago. Ridiculous 8pm kick off with no public transport. And we lost 0-4. Closest I've ever come to wanting to become a member of the Flask Mob.

Before my time but the Ice Kings might have had a few matches that were a bit parky.

12.30 kick off confirmed on the F A website. There are only 10 of the 32 games kicking off at 3pm on Saturday 7th.

Years ago  F A Cup third round day was the highlight of the season, now it's just used to ensure Asia & America can view it & sod the English fans

Was that the 0-0 just after Christmas?

Nah we lost 2-0, was the year we went down and they went up, it was probably the worst game I've ever been to.

Worst possible kick off time with the train strikes that.

With the train strikes, it's probably easier, quicker and cheaper to go abroad.

I wouldn't do it of course, but my conscience would be absolutely clear if I watched illegal streams instead.

Premier League and FA have a f**k the supporters attitude so what do they expect?

It's absolutely ridiculous that the non-3pm Sat kickoffs aren't even available on the BBC's streaming app.

Also, all those folks who just can't understand why lots of us wanted a home tie: It's because we don't have 300+ away points, and actually wouldn't mind watching our team play! (I guess Arabian pop music it is at half time...)

New year's day 1979 vs Oldham at home, Gary Lineker debut.

I was the coldest I can ever remember being at a match. :colder:

All that tells me is that you’ve never been to Oldham away! Coldest ground in England - if a crow flies due east from there the first land it’d meet at the same height is in the Ural Mountains (so I’m told).
Not only have I been half frozen to death there in the winter, I’ve seen it snow watching us there in April

Not to be pedantic but 300 away points will get you absolutely nowhere in the pecking order. An earlier post suggested only 550+ would get dag and red tickets. Anyway if it’s up for foreign broadcast you’ll easily be able to find a stream I’d think.
