This is painful if you are a France fan. They are off badly today. You do have to wonder if the flu has done them in a bit. If not, then just terrible game from them so far.

 

Argentina deserving to go on and win this though as they have been dominant.

Funny how the only key games we've apparently played in the last three tournaments are the ones we've lost in. Quick maths says we've won 6 out of 9 knockout games in those tournaments (either in normal time or ET/pens. Any knockout game is a key game.

Argentina are worthy winners and they have played brilliantly and have Messi and the whole fairytale of him winning the world Cup and the golden Boot and cementing his place as the greatest player of his generation if not all time but France and Mbappe for whatever reason have been poor and it hasn't been a classic final.
