you went off on one at one point about analysts and Jordan Ayew, but genuinely I don't think we listen to or actually bother with analytics at all. For those of us who used to scrape data from FBRef for fun before they nerfed the offerings on there, relegation in 2022/23 was a very real possibility from the opening day, that we were nowhere near in 21/22 was an aberration due to absurd quality at both ends of the pitch (I was in I think the rodgers thread in the first week with my little Excel graphs showing it). If we've got analysts at the club, they should have been ringing alarm bells at that time, and the club still turn around and say they don't know how it happened. Pearson was big on marginal gains and we've basically got rid of every last aspect he looked at.
