Selby seems to be stuck in no man’s land.

 

He’s losing that invincibility of being awful to play against due to his natural game.

 

But it looks obvious he’s trying to play more “exciting” due to the criticism he gets and looks absolutely lost at times.

Yep, 10 years ago it was refreshing to hear, where as now it’s kinda well just bore off then.

 

Snooker will go on, but I can see why he carries on tbf because even at his age he must know at 70% effort he’ll still win more than he loses

His moaning is less tedious than Selby's snooker to be fair, plus 90% of the personality vacuum players on the circuit right now. Ronnie lives for snooker, he hates aspects of the game. He doesn't hate the game. His recent interview with Rajan was a good watch and tells you everything you need to know about what motivates him and what doesn't. 

 

Love him or hate him (don't know how that's possible), outside of China (which again, Ronnie is a massive part of) viewing figures will fall of a cliff when Ronnie does retire and that could spell massive trouble for the game as we know it.

The couldn’t care less stuff is definitely some kind of inner denial. It’s like when you were a child and you got teased for having a girlfriend, that you’d deny it.
