When Fire was removed after the tragedy, through to games being behind closed doors, we coped fine. People didn't need anything to dance along to.

This is the club being tinpot again. It has made me agree with Max Rushden, someone I cannot stand.

Thanks, Leicester.

If Forest and Cov played this and we didn't we'd all laugh our arses off at it. That tells you what you need to know. People only defend it because it's our club doing it, same with when the clappers were still here.

Can't stand it.
Also makes me wanna get out of the ground ASAP as soon it comes blaring out at FT.
shouldn't be like that after a great performance and win like on Saturday.

When You’re Smiling should be the only consideration at full time.

I'm not a fan of it either, but plenty of Fans were huming along to it on Saturday, dont really care as long as the goals keep going in, I'm happy to listen to the sh$te and hum along to it as well 👍

Just because some fans sing along to it, I don't think that necessarily means they like it, or that they'd miss it if it was replaced or stopped.

Some people are just more agreeable than I, and will happily sing along to anything without thought.

For many, though, it absolutely ruins the experience.

The upside is miniscule. The downside is infuriating for many, while also making us look pathetic. That's not opinion, you only need to look at opposition Twitter after they've played us away for confirmation.

The most frustrating thing about the whole thing, for me, is that I don't understand the logic behind its implementation. What are the benefits? Is there one at all?

We could debate all day long about the appropriateness of goal music as a feature at all. I personally would tend to say it shouldn't have a place, but a good song wouldn't be the end of the world. I didn't mind Fire.

The issue there, of course, is that opinions vary on how good a song is. Music is subjective by nature, so just can it. No benefit to having it in the first place so why have something that is guaranteed to piss some people off?

What nobody can argue with, though, is that the tempo of the current song, whether you like the music or not as a standalone piece of music, is totally ill-fitting for goal celebration.

Isn't the natural reaction to a goal pure ecstacy? You roar with joy, you jump out of your seat. It's an outpouring of emotion, especially when it's a game-defining goal.

Now what about nonchalantly flailing one's limbs to trumpet sound says 'outpouring of emotion'?

It is genuinely one of the most stupid implementations of anything that I can think of.

It's like switching on F1 and finding that they've replaced the opening theme with The Pink Panther theme.

Idiotic.

Rather than posting how much you hate it on Foxestalk, make an anti goal music banner for the next home game. The more people do it the more likely it is to change, posting of here won’t change anything.

Or sing

WE

HATE

THIS FVCKING

SONG

IT IS FVCKING SHIT

to the beat, a minute or two after every goal.

Not keen on the goal music but happy to be irritated on a regular basis if we win matches. Seems a modern nonsense that there has to be  added noise when not required

Oh I would still we rather score than not. It isn't quite that bad. That would take some doing, though!

I'd rather just enjoy the best moment of following my team without tainting it. Is that too much to ask?

Imagine if after every 'impassioned moment' with your other half, a clown's laugh was piped into the room. Would ruin the moment somewhat.

The irritating thing about this is that I like the song, unlike Chelsea Dagger which I can't stand as a song or goal music. Played at a normal volume it's fine. It would fit our fans singing the tune for a player.

The problem is we blast it out at deafening volume which takes away any natural noise plus ruining part of the song.

The goal music is not what’s making us win matches though lol

You're all just being fvcking hipsters, and you do this all the time. I'm not playing your silly fvcking twitter inspired "i think it's sh1tter than you" game.

None of you care about the goal music or the clappers, how is that actually pi55ing you off when we've just scored? I don't believe you.

It's nonsense.

You're nonsense.

I can confirm that I absolutely hate it. I manage to enjoy the goal for a few seconds after the music starts. Then I wince and sit down. I don't understand how having that opinion is supposed to make me hipster. That's just my reaction. Yours is to dance along like a prat, and honestly I wish that was my natural reaction, too.

Realise it might be shocking to learn that people might have a different opinion to you.

“Been going since filbert street” doesn’t make your view hold any more importance btw
