Ah yes, a carry over from all of those times we played free flowing attacking football and demolished sides under Claude Puel.

Claude Puel,  love him or hate him, had nowhere near the talent to work with Rodgers did though he did leave some good players. If we were demolishing sides, as we were, why did Rodgers change it? EGO.

Southampton 9-0

Villa 4-1 (first time)

Arsenal 2-0

Man Utd 3-1

Chelsea 1-0.

All great performances for differing reasons.

Two aways, 5-2 at Man city and 9-0 at Southampton.  The thing that puzzles me is that if he could get a team to play like that then, why not now, and for the last 2 seasons. I know Vardy's about buggered now, but even so there should still be enough talent in our side not to be playing this turgid stuff.

And your post sums up how people forget so easly.

Starting line up from Puel's last game:

Kasper

Ricardo - Evans - Maguire - Fuchs

Tielemens - Ndidi - Maddison

Ghazall - Vardy - Barnes

Pretty much the same players we have now. Puel stabled us and built us but it needed a manager like Rodgers to take that team forward and win a trophy.

And even then, Maddison had only joined from the Championship that summer and Tielemans just before he was sacked really. Neither had yet had the chance to grow  into what they became, albeit Tielemans appeared to eventually regress somewhat, but he was once very influential.

Posts like this show up both the ungrateful and the unintelligent levels of some football fans.

Despite how it’s ending the fact some can’t or don’t want to see how good his first couple of years were is ridiculous and bordering on the ignorant.

It all went downhill very quickly, but in the last 4 years we’ve won an FA Cup, a charity shield, played in a European semi final, finished 5th twice and scored 4 or more goals in a game more times than at any other period in our history.
We've beaten all of the top 6 big boys home, away and a couple of them at Wembley.
We've gained the record for the biggest away win in PL history and still the only team to score 5 in Peps back garden.

It was time for him to walk away, but let’s not pretend their hasn’t been some great memories and some wonderful football played along the way.

Probably a joke....

So because his opinion isn't the same as yours,  he's unintelligent, ungrateful and ignorant? Ok, thank you oh learned one 🤔

On the other hand Vardy, Evans and Kasper were all very good still.

If anyone can’t see the facts and haven’t enjoyed the good times we’ve had over the last 4 years, and in particular the first 2 then yes they are all of those things.

Like many have said its the Arsenal 2-0 game because that's when it felt like everything was clicking into place and we played them off the park.

From a result point of view, the 9-0 will be hard to beat.

We dug in the FA Cup final, wouldn't say it was one of our best performances. Showed the most heart maybe.

But probably my favourite is the Arsenal game when we truly played them off the park. 2-0 was flattering and a glorious night where we really started to believe that season could be special. Sadly wasn't to be

We won't do it again.

It was time for Rodgers to go but I'll be very surprised if another manager matches this.

We have qualified for European football via league position three times in our history including under Rodgers (I think? As O'Neill qualified via winning the League Cup). The two 5th place finishes cannot be overlooked, even if we did "bottle" top 4.

0-2 Palace (A) in the 19/20 season - at the time Palace were a well drilled and tough to break down team under Hodgson with a great home record. We'd just come off the back of the 9-0 win at Southampton and could have easily seen a slip in standard. We controlled the game first whistle to last, and Vardy's goal was a brilliant move and team goal.

0-1 Arsenal (A) in the 20/21 season - different type of win but this was one of my favourite smash and grabs in recent years. We were disciplined and stuck to our task well. Piece of quality from Tielemans to open them up up and Vardy diving head late in the game. Beautiful.

Honestly you are completely deluded if you think a team can get to two 5th place finishes and win an fa cup and community shield without a good manager. Everyone’s jealous of Brighton and they might not even once achieve what we did for 2 years. Stop being stupid just because you didn’t like him.
