Just come to terms with it. The key to happiness.

Like I said I’m happy to back him. Just don’t understand why he’s suddenly being touted on here as the best we can do. He isn’t. Not even close.

Given our current owners approach to managers, if he keeps us up, he gets the job, he also has this “credit in the bank” we heard so much about with Rodgers. Where do we go with Smith ? Realistically. Staying up will be great but with this team, we’ll be right back there with a weaker team and an owner reluctant to do anything again.

If he keeps us up and he's doing a good job why wouldn't we keep him? He's not even here yet, let's give him a chance and see where we can go!

I have a feeling we may see big Nacho play wide right. That's were he played Josh Sargent for Norwich.

Possibly more to do with the fact Josh Sargent is one of the most horrific strikers i've ever seen lol

Having a decent year this year to be fair.

Suddenly he’s the best appointment we could have made? I’m happy to back him and give him a chance but honestly. Literally the bottom of the barrel. The flip flap on here is hilarious.

We are on that night out. Had 8 pints and a dodgy shot. We’ve pulled the wrongen. But we’ve realised the wrongen has got quite nice b00bs. She’s just not marriage material.

The hope here is that Smith and the team can get us through the night, but let’s not get into anything long term.

Poetry I’m sure you will agree.

Happy with this.

I thought all you lot wanted Brendan sacked? Two questions for you:

a) who/what did you want once you got your wish?

b) who/what did you think Top, Whelan and Rudkin were actually going to deliver?

Be honest.

DS strikes me as a straightforward type. Bit like Pearson. Played as a defender so that might be a plus for us. Could be good. We'll see soon enough!

Any port in a storm. Couldn’t have carried on as we were and these three would fire them up you’d think

See again this probably will be unpopular but even if we stay up I wouldn’t give him a contract. He just isn’t it. The club is in dire need of a cultural reset. Dean Smith simply can’t do that. We need something fresh.

It is what it is and we’re in the position that we’re in. Nobody decent is going to take us on at this point so atleast we have got someone in that must be up for the fight which is better than what we had before.

Even if we do stay up I think the days of having a manager on 10m a year are over for the time being

Hard to disagree with this. If we stay up we can send him off with a nice fat bonus but he is not the man i’d trust with the massive rebuild we’ve got ahead of us.

He has to be a better defensive coach than Kolo Toure. I understand why people dislike him but he really knew how to defend which we need to have a chance of staying up.

I don't doubt his defensive talents..   or his determination.

But I can't compromise.  I know what he said.

The rest of football thinks we are mad to get rid of Rodgers and replace him with Smith, but the rest of football hasn't sat through game after game of decline.

We are Leicester City fans, not Brendan Rodgers fans, so I hope we all wish Smith and his team all the best, however long they are in post.

Is it too soon to be calling him "Smiggeh" ?

We all know what life with Rodgers became.

I said in the Bournemouth Post match thread we left it too late to sack Rodgers and left ourselves with two important games being managed by caretaker managers. That's also put is a position where most decent managers are gonna turn their nose up at joining because of the the very likely event we'll go down. All we're left with is either bringing in someone like Marsch on a long term deal or hoping someone like Benitez or Smith can do a job over the next 8 games and save us. Would I want Smith or Benitez normally or for a longer period? Of course not but they are going to be better than Stowell and Sadler and this is where we find ourselves. Were people expecting us to get Poch or entice Kompany from guaranteed PL football with Burnley next year, or Frank from the same with Brentford? It's not happening is it. Maybe a few months back but not now.

Exactly. I wanted Rodgers gone, and the later in the season it got the more I accepted he wouldn't be replaced by a top manager.

I wanted them to sack him long ago, when we initially started going downhill and he showed no signs of knowing what to do about it.

I expected Top and the board to see the downhill trajectory we were taking and get someone in who could turn things around. Our options would have been so much greater a year ago.

I'm interested in hearing what you could see that I couldn't that would mean you think he should have stayed?
