I will not be unhappy if Brecel wins.

I'd prefer Selby to win because I'm as provincial as most people on here and he's a Leicester man, but like you I wouldn't be unhappy if Brecel wins because he's a flair player who has also shown remarkable grit and application to come back from two positions where he was basically out, so he'd deserve it.

Those semi’s were so contrasting that it really is impossible to call how it’ll go.

I’ll still refer to Mark’s record in finals though, I think that makes him a favourite.

Selby lifting the title has coincided with a good nights for Leicester a couple of times in the past. Pretty sure we won both the Championship and Premier League on the nights he was World Champion in 2014 and 2016. Hopefully that trend continues tomorrow.

Hope Brecel, think Selby. Either way, we know its over as a contest until the winner wins their 18th frame given their comebacks and fighting ability respectively.

Regardless of his style Selby is one of the greats and doesn't get the credit he deserves for his 4 world titles. He is the best attritional player of all time at the very least.

How easy was it to get them this morning? I gave up last year down to availability and also couldnt justify the cost at the time.

Quite easy if you got on quickly. I’ve got tickets to the final session of the final and both for the first mate.

The cost is a joke to be fair.

Brecel will be confident after that amazing comeback yesterday. Selby is absolute granite though, he’s been there and he’s done it, regardless of how he’s playing he’ll always find a way.

Selby obviously favourite, two contrasting styles. Will Brecel be able to withstand the pressure and safety?

Usually I’m pro Selby but like a few have already said, I wouldn’t mind if Luca wins.

For the current image of the game, at this particular time, Snooker could do with a Brecel victory.

There’s been plenty of talk over the years about where the next generation is coming from, with Xintong & Bingtao currently suspended, Luca’s pretty much been left to fly the flag for the under 30’s.

Luca winning could also boost the popularity across the younger generation and across Europe.

But I just can’t see past Selby getting a stranglehold of him.

Prediction - Selby 18-11 Brecel.

For those who aren't just armchair fans, what makes Selby's safety play so good?

Is it psychological, is it being able to see angles better than others? Is it cue control? Or something else?

I'd probably still consider myself an armchair fan, but I would say it's because firstly he usually plays the shots very well, rarely leaving chances or easy opportunity for the opponent to turn the tables on him, and secondly he doesn't get tempted to play stupid shots. If he doesn't see value in it, if he thinks he'll leave an easy chance if he misses, if he's in anyway doubtful of potting, he'll play safe. He'll do that got ages, which inevitably ends up with the opponent getting frustrated and attempted something wild, which in the majority of cases results in them messing up and letting Selby in to clean up and take the frame.

Just my opinion, but that's how I see it.

Relentless practice I'd imagine.

My personal view is that he is the best of all time at choosing the right shot to play. He weighs up the percentages and the risk of leaving someone on if he messes up, especially on shots to nothing.

Practice, practice and practice. Also his vast experience.

Yep, this session for him is all about staying in touch and then having a rest. 5-3 will be a great outcome for him.
