Expected result after an unexpectedly bright start that lasted about 15 mins. After that, business as usual. I’d be very surprised if we got another point this season.

I feel like Iversen had very little to do. Liverpool didn't get out of 2nd gear. Meaning Henderson looked like Prime Pirlo.

Even when the opposition aren't upto their usual best we still can't show any fight. Ndidi was so slow he was a statue, Tielemans was he usual rubbish self and don't get me started on Soumare. There is no way he is a professional footballer.

Then you have Madison. Who clearly just wants to take the spotlight and big himself up. He really didn't want to pass.

It says a lot when you have teams down here with us in a relegation fight who know they are. Who's fans are getting behind them.

Then you have us who chant 'youre not fit to wear the shirt'. Which we do solely because we are not seeing anything to suggest that these players give a shit.

We won't get anything at Newcastle so we have to pray that Everton and Forest lose their next game so we can take it to the final day.

Last night I see all these flags with pictures of the trophies of recent years. We are clearly living on past glories and rested on laurels. That's what has put us in this position. I feel like a complete rehash of the club is needed.

Looking at those goals. I didn't realise just how inept Fae is as a defender. He seems more focused on putting his arms behind his back than challenging for the ball. Hopeless.

Do you seriously think it would have been any better with Rodgers still in charge?:dunno:

Well, it couldn’t have been much worst could it? Everyone has this belief that changing managers leads to instant success.

Southampton down. Leicester down. Leeds probably down.

Clubs surviving, Forest, stuck with Cooper, West Ham, stuck with Moyes 🤔

But what about Villa and Wolves? Both acted early (as we should have obviously done) and recruited top class replacements.

Do you think we’d be anywhere near the bottom three had we binned off Rodgers months ago and replaced him with Emery?

I think the problem was changing the manager without a plan B. It was all done quite late in the day and with nobody in mind whilst key games came and went. Certainly it worked at Palace and I think you could see the influence big Sam had at Leeds the other day but time may be too short for him.

Yes, it could have been worse. BR wouldn’t have played Soy, we’d have been thrashed by MC, confidence completely shot, tippy tappy and no fight against Wolves so maybe scrapped a point, collapsed at Leeds so already relegated by now.

Forest and WHU have shown fight and collective team spirit- we had stopped doing that under BR.
I don’t want Smith, but it was all we could get. He was let down by the players against Fulham.

I didn’t want to post last night as I was livid with what I had witnessed. Our premier league survival on the line and we throw in such a limp and gutless performance. Too many players have checked out and genuinely couldn’t care less as they are probably lining up their exit.

You could see the pain in Vards eyes at the end, the rest it looks like crocodile tears, there is no visible game plan, there is no spirit or cohesion and feck all fight, given what was at stake that performance was a disgrace.

Smith should leave the day our relegation is confirmed, it’s not his fault we will go down but the lack of positive change since his arrival and the fact he continues to select players who have visibly downed tools is indefensible.

As for seeing tv pictures of Rudkin sat chirping in Tops ear just made the anger levels go through the roof. He needs to leave the club the man is a fecking parasite. He has presided over a complete and utter disaster and cannot be allowed to continue in such a critical role.

I think it as Maddison's attempt at grabbing the game by the scuff of its neck.

The midfield had not balance or fight - Lets face it; we hardly have an embarrassment of ruches in midfield but surely Mendy and KDH would have been better for the run in?

I'd have also probably have brought Praet back in and go the fucher fit before he played

Agree. We are suffering from massive organisational drift and have been for two years since we gloriously won the FA Cup.

We need to find a way to remember our glorious era but recognise it is now over, and we have to redefine ourselves and look forwards, not backwards.

He's appalling. Slow, rash and totally unpredictable. He's been rubbish for months bar the odd good game. I've not watched the goals back but my abiding memory of last night was him ducking under the high ball over the top that led to their opening goal. Awful player. Hopefully we can flog him back to Ligue 1 this summer.

Has Evans always been that slow on the ball? Everytime he got it he seemed to freeze instead of playing the quick pass. Criminal then playing him behind Ndidi who does the same.

What has happened to Faes btw? We had such an aggressive, forward playing centre half in the summer. Now he seems scared to do anything?

Barnes genuinely looked like he didn't give a toss, I saw Daka run more in 5 minutes than Barnes in 65.

It was actually laughable how little they tried in that second half

More or less down without a whimper. In reality we could be relegated without kicking another ball in anger.

It has been a dreadful season, probably one of the worse I have had to endure since the mid-50's.

The decline over the last 2 years has been hard to watch and take.

The Club, to my mind, requires root and branch reform with the deadwood being cleared out immediately.

Missing Nacho big time which would have made a significant difference maybe still not enough.

He will pull of the frontline move a couple of players get a couple of shots away and slip a pass .

Never thought Id be saying it

The time has come for Evans and Vards to call it a day, pack up and retain a bit of dignity. Just watched Vards post match interview. He came across broken and said what he always say's, like a stuck record.

The lack of leadership in this squad is astonishing. Who is rallying the troops in the dressing room before the match? Who is shouting at his teammates to organise them? Who is showing that they don't want to be relegated?

Evans, Vardy, Ricardo, Tielemans, Faes are all experienced enough to be showing more leadership but they have their heads down.

Evans yes, he is very much passed it. He's physically gone, barely last 80mins yesterday and clearly tweaked something going off.

Vardy no, as we've seen he still has things to offer when provided with the service

What? Just WHAT? I must have been at the wrong stadium in that case. I saw ZERO fight.

You see what you want to see.

For a good quarter of the match, they were doing ok. Salah's assist was a stroke of genius. And that's when the wheels always come off the train with this team. They're so lacking in confidence, any setback or mistake is enough to panic them and then they lose it.

Crap recruitment, crap selections, crap game management, crap substitutions for two seasons, and then major indecision about firing Rodgers - leaving it until only a handful of games remained, is where the rot in this club exists. Then the board (whoever and whatever that is) decide on a Rodgers carbon copy to turn things around.

But we can't do a thing about Rodgers or Top or Rudkin or Whelan - cos they're untouchable; unaccountable.

But the knee-jerk reaction of almost everyone on this forum last night, as if they're waiting for someone to cock up in order to release thst tsunami of bile I was reading last night was unpleasant in the extreme and unfair.

We had a good first fifteen and I was thinking to myself that we actually  didn’t look like a side that was in relegation trouble - but then liverpool changed their tactics to nullify what we had been set up to do re their approach to the game and that was that. The players seemed to drain all belief at a rapid rate as they realised that we wouldn’t have a plan coming from the sidelines to take back any initiative - smith and shakey seem to lack in game tactical nouse - whatever the reason I don’t know but it was clear to see last night

someone commented in the match thread that they weren’t in control when they scored - completely wrong -I said to the guy behind me after 25 mins that I felt like a Roma fan wandering through the streets of Naples - just waiting to be stabbed !  if we had a competent defensive structure then we could maybe have struggled through to HT at 0-0 but we can’t manage that.  Depressing.

Balance and internet forums are in general mutually exclusive. The defeat was expected , even near our best Liverpool usually prevail. Its just that many of our players don't know how to fight and make things as difficult as possible. The attitude " if we can't win pretty then we don't want to play " is entirely down to Rodgers. In truth though that idea hoodwinked many on here.

You heard it here first, there will be some on here who predict we will beat Newcastle. There is blind faith and football supporters!

You don't think we will?

Soumare and Tielemans masterclass incoming, you heard it here first.

I turned it off when we went 1 nil down. I known it was over then.

That's what's so frustrating, no matter how pessimistic you are you get suckered into it a bit during the first 20 minutes when we're playing relatively well, and then the players immediately give up after conceding a stupid goal.

One thing that scares me is that Jesse Marsch was willing to come to us and stay with us should we go to the championship.

Talks broke down because he wasn’t convinced by the plan in place for life in the championship. Just what is the plan I wonder or is there even one?

Worrying times ahead.

There wasn't any plan when we sacked Rodgers so I wouldn't hold out any hope.

I think Faes's main objective in the game was to avoid scoring any more goals for Liverpool - and, of course, picking up his big fat cheque for actually playing!
