Maresca is an unknown but he’s also operating from a clean slate and with a glowing endorsement from Pep. The players will be feeling the same excitement with him as many of us fans are. We were miserable at the prospect of Parker, just imagine being a player and waking up to the prospect of Parker as your boss!

And you can bet he'll have a strong input on transfers too. You don't go to the trouble of recruiting somebody like him to shake things up only to make it impossible for them to succeed by imposing staff/players on them against their will. 1

I get what you are saying, but my point was that Parma expected promotion and yet sacked their manager 1/3 of the way in to the season when he still had plenty of opportunity to fight for promotion. I've since found out as well that he was 4 points away from the play offs with a winter transfer window upcoming. He was one good signing and 2 good wins away from having them in a play off place and they sacked him. Anyway, the point still stands with Coventry, no? 😉

We are a wannabe big club thats pushed too close to the sun thinking we bigger than we actually are, and the amount of time wasted not growing the club since winning the league is a joke. The new facility means nothing, like my point previous, small club thinking its big mentality, the 'world class' facility didnt help but relegate the club so really, not providing anything but weakness, but eh at least they have a 9hole golf course to enjoy themselves after losing to Stoke City next season. Seagrave will be a cheatcode?? more like a graveyard, LCFC cant afford to maintain it so they are offering to schools and clubs to help fund it, what a joke. I never felt more ashamed of this club and what they have done, and we all blame BR for all of it lol. open your eyes the ownership and all that sit under him have fallen asleep at the wheel. My optimism and motivation is currently at 2/10 k thanks Constructive and articulate.
Muzzy_no7 Posted 16 June 2023 Posted 16 June 2023 Sense that if we were a ‘big 6’ club we wouldn’t have this issue with back room staff work permits.

StanSP Posted 16 June 2023 Posted 16 June 2023 Interesting that Cambiasso was 'sounded out for opinions' during the process. Odd for the club to go back to a former player that isn't actually on our books to do that. What does that day about senior management at the club Perhaps he will be brought here after all in a coaching capacity, but I still find it weird. 1

Happens with every bit of recruitment in every club in the land. Think Rodgers was quoted of speaking to Rene Meulensteen before bringing Souttar in.

It is a bit odd.

I’m still convinced that Cambiasso’s leadership, rather than Nige’s was most influential in the Great Escape. I’m now preparing to be publicly stoned by the Nigel is God crew 1 1 2

From what I gathered it was Maresca that went to him for his opinion since they done their coaching badges together and he is a former Leicester player. 2

They know he is popular with the support so it looks good. Not much link between them one would guess apart from not much hair and maybe both Spanish speakers.

It's a cynical point to be fair As above, they did their coaching badges together which seems to be the only link.

Would have thought Cambiasso would be able to speak Italian too having played for Inter for a decade.
