In fairness, I suspect Forest, Brentford, Everton, Ipswich and whoever comes up via the playoffs will be similarly cack next season.

I can't really call Everton. They'd be 11th without the deduction which is pretty respectable with what's a bottom half squad. Goodison has become quite hard to go to again.

I don't see many really obvious strugglers bar Forest. Given I think we'll be up against it given our likely weakened squad and points deduction I've been looking at who is realistically going to struggle. I see a lot of ordinary teams but not many who I think could completely tank.

Don't automatically assume that the three who came up will go down again next year just because it happened this time but I don't see any absolute clear strugglers. I thought Wolves and Fulham would struggle this season, based on quite similar finishes to a year ago and neither really have done.

There's just no way the three who go up this time can be as bad as Burnley, Sheff Utd and Luton. Even with our deduction, even with Ipswich and potentially Norwich I doubt we'd accumulate even close to as few as 66 points. A generationally bad effort.

I've had one of my Forest "friends" call me tinpot because we had a bus parade.

Had to remind him they invaded the pitch because they made the Carabao Cup semi final last year. He's not seen them win anything bless him.

They invaded the pitch after finishing 21st in the Championship in 2017. There was a fantastic screenshot where you saw their fans on the pitch with the table on the side, showing them below literal Burton Albion.

Watching the Old firm game today, it was like last season never happened.

First Rodgers to highlight his first three seasons with us to emphasis how he (his words) was a “decorated manager”

Second, bloody Lenny stressing how Rodgers was “elite”.

Him quoting “how hot it was” in his post match conference (he was whining about someone questioning him too) made me realise how Enzo’s comments were no where near like that Charlatan’s.

Rodgers won't go anywhere he's gonna win the easyfix title and get a pat on the back

I heard him talking prior to the Old Firm game yesterday.
He just spoke about the trophies he’s won, making it all about him.

So narcissistic.

29 points is the lowest ever points to have stayed up if that's what they finish on. I think 34 was the previous best.

I remember us going down on 33 with Leicester and Leeds in 03/04.

‘Narcissistic’ is spot on but there is another word beginning with a ‘C’ that was invented for Rodgers.

However he strives to package or project himself (and of course he does this a lot),  most people will always think of him first and foremost as a ‘C’.

Yeah, you're right of course.

That style of football we played in 15/16 was awful.. much prefer to watch Enzoball.

I’m glad Forest have stayed up. They’re chaotic, there’s no direction at that club, and as many have said they’ve been incredibly lucky to have been in two pathetic relegation battles that were over before they started, plus it gives us someone to better, and I fancy our chances against them in all fairness. There’s no long term plan in their owners thinking, and I can see everything unraveling for them next season.

The bottom half of the premier league honks, which is why I’m hopeful if we get things right on the summer and recruit properly we will be decent, what we do have (and I’m aware that I said I thought we didn’t have it) but….. it’s clear that we’ve got a good bond within the squad. What we don’t want is the hierarchy to disrupt that, which is my concern…. Enzo has already criticised the communication, the club must learn from the mistakes over the last two years,  I think a host of teams are set to struggle next year, but we’re normally better when we are up against it, and we will be next season which is why I think we will do well.

I think Ipswich, Forest, Wolves, Fulham, Brentford, Bournemouth, the play off winners and ourselves will be battling it out to stay in the PL, but I do fancy us to eventually be fairly comfortable come the end of the season.

Worst premier league season in years. Relegation decided before the final day, top four basically decided with two games to spare and let's face it, Man City will win the title again.

Notts Forest getting 67 points across two seasons and still surviving. Their luck is truly unrivalled, their games against Ipswich next season will be the most ridiculous game in the history of the sport.

we didnt hoof long balls all the time under CR, it was counter attack football

im pretty sure you probably moaned about 15/16 season too then.....saying it would all go tits up after the Arsenal loss

and you say we are going to be the new "burnley" , its like me comparing myself to Elon Musk cos Ive got £7 in my wallet, money but different levels,

just cos we play a certain style of football; look deeper into the Burnley stuff and youll see, they have had a huge turnover in players, including a keeper who hasnt played at the top level(league 1 last season)then thrown into the prem.

a number of new defenders, Burnley for the past few months have looked alot better but it was too late.

I'm sure I saw an analysis that, for all of their complaining about VAR, they would actually have even fewer points without it. They'll be down there again next season.

Never said I'd like to watch hoof balls?

Haven't we got a keeper who hasn't played at the top level?

Some of our playing out from the back last season was horrendous (starting with Mads)... play like that in the PL and we'll get mullered!!

Nothing to do with being negative, it's being realistic!!

comparing it Trafford who played L1.....yeah i think Mads is a bit more experienced in that regards

horrendous? nah compared to the couple of seasons under BR trying to do it, it was alot easier to watch, since we had a keeper who could use his feet

we'll see, but then again some on this forum love to over react, kinda like when we lost some games this season, like the world was going to end

and as for realistic....i dunno given the over reaction to some of our results this season.....im on the fence on that

Everton will be fine I suspect

The three promoted sides will be strong favourites for relegation

Arsenal win at Man Utd, everyone?

I'd be amazed if Arsenal don't score at least 3. Easy win surely.

Have Man Utd ever been 7/1 to win at Old Trafford before?

Wow. Surely not ?

I cannot believe the state of their defence. It’s inexcusable considering the money that they have spent. Crazy how they’ve become the biggest joke club in the country. Such a spectacular fall from grace.

Growing up in the 90's/00's I have to say how lovely it is too see their fall from grace. My United supporting mates who have been to Old Trafford about 3 times between them are a lot quieter about football nowadays
