As he’s big mates with Di Zerbi, wouldn’t rule out one of Brightons prospects coming here for a season either.

Steven Alzate’s situation intrigues me.

Coming off a successful loan spell at Standard Liege, comfortable in a possession based team and gets stuck in on the defensive end.

If he’s not in De Zerbi’s plans then I hope we show interest, they might even let him go on a permanent.

On my ‘fix lcfc’ FM save he was my first signing

The issue is that those who had decent loans in the championship last season will now be out of our reach due to relegation

my one hope is that that we don’t block the progress of alves and braybrooke because of loaning in other clubs young talent.

I really hope someone at the club is relaying to Maresca just how good these kids were before their injuries.

Both probably fit his style very well. Hopefully they return at a somewhat decent level.

Alves and Braybrooke will be injured for the start of the season.

I'm all for helping our finances by using loan players.

But we can't be left in a position where we're dependent on the loan players in the long run.

West Brom and Barnes. Derby and Chelsea's loanees. Both spring to mind.

Alves and Braybrooke, and others, must be transitioned into taking the places of any Man City loan player.

Else our success will only be short term success.

Borges being linked to Forest.

I can see that being an issue. Especially, as mentioned, anymore with excellent Championship experience.

Man City will trust Maresca more. Prem experience vs experience with Maresca. Not always an easy decision.

If Palmer is a possibility that could be huge for us.  The Bundesliga is an obvious draw, but what if he goes there and struggles for time?  A year under a guy Pep trusts with pretty much guaranteed first 11 status may be very appealing for Man City.

They will look at the young players who have gone out there previously and developed. I imagine at this stage of his career for him a year in the Bundesliga away from home, playing in a different culture of football, and potentially in a team environment where they aren’t shrouded in success, does more for his longer term development than a year in the championship with us. I’d love him here though, he’s not had a consistent run of games for Man City, let him come play Saturday, Tuesday and have a cold Tuesday night in Stoke with us.

Imagine Harwood Bellis will be at Burnley again next year. Callum Doyle, Mcatee, Tommy Doyle, Morgan Rogers etc probably more likely. Think there will be atleast one technical central midfielder coming from there who will know Marescas style and be able to implement it

I’m not sure Tommy Doyle, James McAtee and Taylor Harwood-Bellis are as realistic. Sheff Utd fans are really keen to keep Doyle and McAtee so I’d expect if they aren’t around the first team at Man City, they’d go on loan again or permanently to the Blades. I’m not sure about Harwood-Bellis, if Burnley like him probably the same.

Others like Calum Doyle who haven’t got promoted in their Championship loan maybe more likely. Otherwise some even younger gems that they want to loan out.

You could say the same about Reyes Cleary at West Brom.

Borges is fast, strong, direct and relentless. I think he has lots of potential but I'd be amazed if he's Man City's Cup of tea. His first touch and awareness look lacking. Don't forget Man City don't mind selling the likes of Lavia, Edozie etc. The ones that aren't sold are the technicians.

...I would take Borges!!!

This is only through watching YT, but he seems to have awareness, the discipline to lay the ball off and commit to the byline for the cut back where most players would take the block and accept a corner, he is striving to open up a defence.. He has pace and takes up a good attacking positions and can finish.

One who hasn't yet been mentioned is Kayky. Not done a lot since Man City signed him, but are we forever put off Brazilians and left footed right wingers in particular?

If you’re recommending him —-yes

love us to go for Borges, Callum Doyle and Sarmiento. If we didn't have Iversen then maybe Trafford

1 out of 4 (so far) isn't bad...
