Man City Elite Development Squad - Loan Options

If it does work out that we can snare some 'elite' youngsters from Man City, who would we get? 

 

I believe loan rules dictate we can only have 4 from the same club, and of those, no more than 2 that are over 23. 

 

If we could have our pick (realistically), who would/could we get? 

 

Goalkeepers/Defenders:

 

Midfielders:

 

Forwards:

 

 

Perhaps some of the players in the Championship last season (McAtee, Delap, Doyle, Harwood-Bellis) will go to PL clubs, so they may not be in our reach. 

 

I'd love us to go for Borges, Callum Doyle and Sarmiento. If we didn't have Iversen then maybe Trafford. 

 

Not sure what the rules are regarding amount of players in a matchday squad though...

Not on the list as he's in the Premier League squad, but we should be in for Cole Palmer.

 

Reports have suggested he'll be allowed out on loan, and he might be guaranteed more time at a Championship club. With Maresca in, we might have a chance.

The coaches have been disappointed with the pace of his development this season apparently. They want to loan him out so he can get more game time and find form and confidence.

We had our eyes on Harwood Bellis over last season. Suspect however Man City and/or himself would prefer PL now.

Palmer has apparently been linked with Bundesliga clubs to go on loan. 

 

I think we need to accept we won't be getting him!

I think this all depends how ‘happy’ Man City are to be losing maresca 

 

in addition, need to see how last summer’s sales to Southampton work out with relegation possibly forcing unplanned sales on some of these players. 

they may want to raise some income by selling rather than loaning and in the championship we may not be able to take on these £15m/20m level  ‘purchases’.

From Man City in general (not just development squad), I think we need:

 

- Zack Steffan, Goal Keeper - Played a great season for Middlesbrough last year. USA international. Man City want £10m for him apparently!

- Harwood-Bayliss, Centerback - Young English CB, had a great Season on Loan at Burnley

- Cole Palmer - A young man with a fair bit to prove. Attacking midfielder we'll need  to help fill the hole left by Maddison
