Contrary to popular belief, if we bin off Vesty and Faes, plus lose a couple more of our more experienced campaigners like Winks, Ndidi and possibly even Vards then we will need some experience and leadership to help and guide the younger players.

I do understand why he rubs some of our fanbase up the wrong way with constantly being in the media, I suppose the counter argument is at least he is visible and prepared to front up unlike so many others at the club.

I am non plussed if he stays or goes, too be honest.

Nothing to do with his media work. He's garbage. He's like an AI interpretation of a centre half. There's just something off key with how he plays.

Leicester City defender says the club being on the brink of a second relegation in three seasons is "not good enough" and has left him "devastated".

It is possible the Foxes' fate could have been sealed before they kick off against Liverpool on Sunday, if results go against them.

"We can't look too far ahead because we are not in a situation where we can affect anything. We are nowhere near good enough to the teams above us. We can't look at that," said Coady.

"Just show yourself, give the best to yourself every single day. And no matter what happens, we go in the summer and put this club in the best place it can be.

"I never had a relegation in my career. This club is on the verge of having two in three years. It's not good enough. I am absolutely devastated and it's not something I've ever wanted for this club or in my career."

Coady also said the players should make the most of Sunday's opportunity to face Liverpool, who are a maximum of six points away from sealing the title.

"These games don't come around too often," he added. "Given the situation we are in now, we might never get these games again.

"Go and enjoy them. Go and enjoy playing at King Power Stadium against a world-class team on the verge of winning the Premier League title."

Spot on with everything that he has said there - anything that brings the club into scrutiny gets a gold star from me. I'd be happy with Nelson, Souttar, Coady and Okoli next season.

I hate it.

modern players

this was in sun today

SAINT ACCEPTABLE

‘They don’t care enough’ – Matt Le Tissier tears into Southampton flops & moans watching them get outclassed is ‘chore’

But there just didn’t seem to be that amount of fight in this team and that’s symptomatic of a lot of footballers this day and age.

“There doesn’t seem to be the same connection between the players and the fans on the terrace like we had.

“I was in at least five relegation scraps. We never got relegated — and definitely four went to the last day of the season.”

This is just hot air, he is as culpable as the rest of the hierachy, he came here with "Leadership" qualities,  however the lack of effort, fight and determination from the team is a direct reflection of his ineffective "Leadership" all talk and zero action get him gone as early as possible

He’s right, especially for us and Southampton.

Symptomatic of poor leadership within the club (again)

What he says can be right and he not be the right man to move us forward. Given where he’s at, he’d be a better DoF than CB.

They really didn't want him, they were probably just trying to unsettle us as we were both considered relegation candidates. Then they go and sign the CB Agbadou that we were interested in first

If Coady was anything as good for the squad and environment (or basically anything you can't actually quantify) then these performances in recent months simply wouldn't have been allowed to take place. If these are the standards he's upholding then cheerio.

He most certainly isn't devastated! No one at the club is, which is astonishing but true.

At best he's not bothered, but I actually think he's loved being over paid and under played, whilst having LOLs in front of a camera crew as much as possible.

An embarrassment of a club captain. To think we had the likes of Wes Morgan, Steve Walsh, Schmeichel and Matt Elliott lead us not so long ago...

Him being our strongest leader and most vocal presence to the press is an example of how the rot has been allowed to take over.

The “good around the dressing room” reason has never washed with me, if someone is crap at their job why would that be someone to motivate and have around. He’s the Danny Dyer of football.

To think we have had Huth and Morgan working at the club in some capacity while the defence has been a mess for 3 seasons, lacking any discipline and responsibility is a joke

Get those two working with Nelson, Okoli, Soutter to drill the basics into them as well as Woyo picking Ricky’s brain while he’s still here.  Keep them away from JJ, Coady and the Chuckle brothers.

Luton had more of a go last season with a fraction of the playing budget, probably the lowest in the league for a long time.

I think Coady is actually a good leader. He helped keep Everton up but they carried him by playing 3 at the back. Did well at Wolves but again they had to play 3 at the back and eventually let him go. He's past it now though and has no business playing at this level. Average Championship player at best.

Another one that personifies where the club is at currently. Full of absolute waffle, I guarantee he knows next to nothing about the club or the city yet get gigs speaking on behalf of us because he's a "leader" and "experienced" (has never won a major trophy).

Out at the first opportunity.
