Our one is now so old he can't clean himself so his coat is quite ragged. We brush and comb him but it doesn't make a lot of difference.

On the upside, no more vomiting furballs.

I am a bit of a crazy cat lady. A leisurely breakfast with cuddles from my purring friend who is excited to see me again after being shut downstairs all night is the perfect way to start the day.

Cats will be all smiley and happy when you are giving them food but they’ll sink their claws into you without a second thought. Also, have you ever seen them play with a mouse or a bird?

This seems to already have gone from a cat thread, to a cat v dog thread.

@MPH, chill out man, let the weirdos have their own thread lol

Oi behave! You have no doubt seen pictures of my cat, and know that she’s adorable. She is also completely incapable of catching anything

In all fairness, when I used to foster I had one cat who I genuinely felt was quite evil and I felt very nervous around. Not his fault though - he wasn’t socialised properly as a kitten.

We can always arrange some exposure therapy next time you are in the UK

As I said the anti cat lobby can't keep it to themselves.

I've always hated dogs, and been indifferent to cats. The missus has always loved cats and grew up with them. We got 2 male kittens (brothers) when we bought our house 18 months ago. Absolutely amazing little things. We went away last week and had the sister in law looking after them, she has cats herself and she said she's never met such sweet cats.

One of them is obsessed with sticks and playing fetch with little fuzzy balls (he genuinely chases them and brings them back to throw again). He had a few seizures a few months ago, got diagnosed with epilepsy. Was horrendous at the time. Fortunately since being on daily pills he hasn't had one for a long time.

I fostered a cat who loved to play fetch! He would also jump right up onto your shoulder like a parrot!

Chance of you lot starting a rota to clear the s**t up in my garden?

This is the reason I dislike them.

Although, I did save one the other day from a fox.

I'm not a 'cat lover' but I'd certainly pick something that's quiet, doesn't smell and looks after itself than something that barks at everything, f#@king stinks (despite their owners instance they dont), slobbering,  begs for attention, constantly farts, needs walking etc etc.

Each to their own though.

My wife might agree with you.

Brought up with dogs, ever since I was born to the day I left home. Always so loyal and loving.

Got two female cats about 13 years ago, and have been completely converted.

Whenever the subject of getting a dog is broached, I'm the first to shoot it down. They need so much more attention, which just takes up so much time. Respect to anyone who has the free time for it, but it isn't for me.

So YOU haven’t ,the time no reason to blame the dogs..

I had a dog,my parents 2 after I left home..

When I got married and settled,I wanted a dog,but travelling a lot would of been unfair on the dog..

Not the dogs fault..didn’t convert me..

We had two wild cats over the years that came to the door, and my kids adopted..they became part of the kids (4) life..

sometimes when at home they woul lay either next to me or on my lap…

Never really cared for cats,  but never loathed them..

My younger daughter…has a Pyraneen dog,a cat, & rabbits, some chickens ( 5). She, my grandkid my wife look after both love all the Animals, especially the dog who my daughter takes on holiday, and, either my wife,or a friend of my daughter will see the cat and other animals are fed, stroked, spoke to and cared for for a couple of hours..

My other daughter has 2 Aussie Shepard dogs..( @Swiss.paws) and have just started their larger, longer travels, with their

campervan, they have modernised for rough terrain & wild camping through Europe, just finished Scotland/Wales/England

a couple of weeks they will start from Switzerland ( their now official home) seeing places they hadn’t been too, then onto

Austria, destination Montenegro, until Winter…The dogs being part of the the major journey & influencer business part…

More & longer Overnight stops at dog friendly sites or top hotels..or just open in the middle of nature nomans land.

Dogs the preference in the family, but no loathing of cats,so no converting required..

That’s Nature, but do tend to have the devils spirit in them…can cuddle & pur  for hrs lying next to you or in your lap then for no reason, hit out with claws out ( cats when playing retract their claws) or a quick dishonest bite…

cats are bloody schizophrenic  even to close family members,

Never known a “normal” dog to do that, and when playing also with children their quicks nips are not with the teeth bared, with adults will playfully use the teeth to hold individual family members hand or arm,but no pressure,or play tug of war with some rope or blanket..
