What’s everyone’s guess at the first line up V Coventry.

Ricardo

Souttar (if Coady isn’t fit)

Can’t see Mavididi starting or any other new signings starting if joint a week before first game.

Going on his pre season preparations, this couldn’t be further from the line up….. it’s more likely to be.

I do hope we're going to recruit some creativity / flair. As those line-ups look very pragmatic. Obvs we need to discover the joy of clean sheets. But we also need to feed those strikers. 

 

I'm a bit frustrated with the recruitment now. It started well. But it's gone too quiet with a week to go.

It wont be? Why would he suddenly revert to a back four when we’ve been playing more or less a three all pre season?

Because we play with a back 4 when we defend - Ricardo, Faes, Souttar, Doyle - and it shifts to a back 3 when we are in possession and attacking

This is Leicester, they are on the other side of world at the moment, stroking Top and Rudkin’s ego. They are not going to do any business at the same time. That would be madness.

I guess it’s not too bad. 
Just want to see either a proper RHS attacker, or a creative tucked in, instead of Castagne if we insist on going this route (which we clearly are)

Yeah, was mostly a right winger for the under 21s last season and looked alright

I think the list of the line ups are correct. But within 3 or 4 games, I'm expecting (hoping) JJ and VK break through. 

 

Both have the physical fitness and strength to excel at championship level. We'll need them. 

 

I'm expecting 5 players to have left by the window though. Things will settle down by then.

I reckon Ricardo may play RW and JJ RB. Assuming Mavadidi signs and trains with us and starts on the left.

So what happened to our great signings from Manchester city and Chelsea, this seems like the last two seasons promised everything and delivered nothing , we got relegated because we didn’t have a midfield that could hold the ball or even pass it to a team mate , but again this has not been addressed, think we are in for another disappointing season if we don’t get 2-4 new signings in

Jet lag FC with a half complete squad, no wide attackers, no creative players, and half a pre season under our belts… 

 

Doesn't really matter who starts, we’ll smash ‘em 3-0

I think you’re mostly right but I genuinely think vestergarde will be starting if there’s no coady

That's where he's predominantly played, in fact I don't ever recall him playing on the left in the U21s.
