we were asking too much for him in the summer based on a championship season 

irrespective of whether we stay up, 40m is a reasonable ask now 

 

if we are relegated then I doubt we’d get more than 30m though. If we stay up then it’s 40/50 depending on how desperate we are for the dosh before June 30

I think that's the key element.  If we're desperate for a cash injection then that's an element any buyer can take advantage of.  If we're in a good place however, then we can demand a large sum.  Also dependent on who and how many are interested.

Making the most saves can sometimes be a misleading stat, pretty sure keepers at the bottom generally do make the most saves, I think Aaron Ramsdale was deemed to be good because of that stat at one time. 

But it's the other things, and he just looks like a top keeper. 

 

Chelsea have invested in Jorgensen and have spent pretty big on Mike Penders from Genk joining next summer, Liverpool have signed the Georgian guy for next summer. 

 

I think he's still a bit under the radar enough for us to potentially have him for another season, only if we stay up though.

Will be genuinely gutted when he goes. Top class goalkeeper and seems like a great bloke too. Seen him on a couple of YouTube things and a podcast and he's so down to earth and humble.

 

Needs to go for mega money, like what Chelsea spent on Kepa levels

Wouldn’t be surprised if Bayern looked at him in the summer

 

Neuer is 39 this season and picking up injuries every season now, their back ups are pretty meh and Nubel who is out on loan isn’t that good either

 

Would be perfect for how Kompany has them playing

Goalkeepers are replaceable no matter how good they are. We didn’t replace Kasper. So I am happy to let him go in the summer on the conditions that it frees us up to spend more money on players so that we don’t need to rely on a world class goalkeeper and that we have a replacement lined up.

Please correct me if you think I'm wrong. But don't those two sentences contradict each other.

A generous interpretation might be that if we did actually put money down to replace Kasper, it wouldn't have been as disastrous as it turned out being just relying on Ward.

If we aren’t confident that we have a proper replacement yet it could actually be a solution for a season or two. Still a solid keeper
