Thought he looked good tonight especially first half he was running the show just a pity the team fell apart in the second half and could see his frustration when the subs came on with no pace.

He's no good in a less than good team. Lots of picking up the ball and pivoting, but does he actually make things happen?

Mad yo say it but id swap him out for bouba as he looked decent coming on today

Let's not go back to them dark days, don't be fooled with bouba

First half he was very good. His head clearly dropped when he lost the only other competent footballers in the squad through substitutions, and then he was dreadful.

Difficult for him to pass to anyone when your supporting option is Hamza who is either stood still or chasing a player he's ignored

He was neck and neck with Swift at the start of the counter attack for Portsmouth's goal. By the time Swift receives the ball at the edge of the box Winks is 15 metres behind him jogging back.

Winks gets a free ride from our fan base but he is incredibly lazy.

A little harsh for me, I've got more of an issue in Faes not tackling the Japanese winger.

You would drop Winks for Soumare?

As in, actually choose Soumare to play and not Winks

Even worse from him minutes later where Jakub saved well with his feet, Thomas is with their RW and Winks is covering their RB but just stops running completely allowing their RB to pull it back for a massive chance.

Winks is ok when we are on top in a game but when our backs are against the wall he goes missing time and time again.

Winks is definitely not the problem in this team. It might’ve not been his best game but for me he was working hard, even when it went to 💩 in the second half. There was a real drop off with James and Rambo 2nd half, both knackered for different reasons and the arrival of Hamza and a quickly crocked BDCR meant he had a thankless task at the base of the box that Cifuentes likes to build play with.

Funny how we all see the game differently as I had Winks down as MotM contender.

It was actually the busiest I’ve seen him he did a hell of a lot of running more than I’ve seen especially in that 1st half and even putting in a couple of long range efforts so up around their box.

He was controlling the game & really enjoying playing with JJ & Ramsey.

The issue came when JJ and Ramsey went off he had no one to play triangles & little give and goes with, he was then becoming knackered himself hence those missed placed/lazy passes with 20minutes to play they were tired passes.

Everyone was to blame for how we started the 2nd half but the game should have been wrapped up in the 1st, weird because we have been better in the 2nd half of most games at the start of season.

People seem to make assumptions on 1 or 2 particular points in a 90min game not over the 90mins

I mean yes you are correct,

It’s just not in his dna to track a 60 yard run is it. Wouldn’t even call it lazy just a lack of perception and swifts got yards on him before he’s even picked the run up.

That’s what you get with Harry Winks, unfortunately midfielders who can knock the ball about and successfully read and track runs from deep with consistency cost quite a lot of money.

And as it’s been stated already he’s hardly the first port of call for blame for that goal.

We have what we have. The second half display in general was the most concerning point for me without picking the bones out of the goal which you have to credit Portsmouth for, it’s is a very good counter attack and a great finish which wasn’t easy to defend.

His name is Min-Hyeok Yang. It’s hard to think of a more un-Japanese name :D

Watch the Portsmouth goal back and then decide how hard he worked? Made no attempt to stop their player advancing the ball once they won it back from the hopeless Carranza. Pretty awful from Winks really

This guy’s got away with murder for a lot of our fanbase.

Yeah he’s neat and tidy in possession but he doesn’t want to be at our club. He’s disrespected us as a fan base and a couple of his managers.

If you just turn a blind eye to that and welcome him back with open arms then you get someone you cannot rely on. A leopard does not change its spots.

His lack of tracking a runner for that goal last night is appalling.
