What were the home truths? I’m seeing people defend Winks, with the implication that he must have been receiving some real abuse and was in his rights to respond like that. Not that it does anyway…

Who cares? Nigel Pearson told a fan to eff off and die, and we all love him. I don't mind when players and managers give a bit back, at least it suggests they actually do give a sh*t.

 

And no, Winks hasn't played well enough, often enough, for us since the Maresca season, of course he hasn't, but if anyone actually thinks Winks (or Luke Thomas, or Ayew, or any of them) is what's wrong at the club, they're an idiot.

Its clear he is one of many things that is wrong at the club. I think it's probably pretty idiotic to think otherwise. 

 

It's a personification of the rotten culture that has set in at the club. 

Now, that starts and feeds its way down from the Top. That's not to say it's all on the players like Winks, Ayew, Hamza etc, but there's a whole host of players that does include them who should shoulder some of the responsibility more so than others...
