Weakest link in my opinion and could struggled with Hutchison - spoke with Town fans who said our left was doggo and could see he was a weak link ! All about opinions but we desperately need a left back imo

He’s a solid defender, and I like how he doesn’t take any shit. But he’s too limited on the ball for me, offers nothing going forward and hasn’t linked up with with Mavididi at all.

He played Hutchinson well yesterday though so fair play. He has that in his locker, but it wasn’t too long ago Luke Thomas had Mo Salah in his back pocket so…..

He gave the ball away a few times, but only once in a dangerous position with that header to nowhere (well to an Ipswich player if I remember right) as that was near our box.  Otherwise defensively when one on one against Hutchinson he was good, marshalled him well.  A couple of times though he was drawn out of his position chasing the ball which left the Ipswich winger completely free.  That's something both he and those around him need to have a look at.  For me he's another Danny Simpson.  Traditional defensive fullback.  He's got a bit more about him going forwards in that he won't get a nosebleed past halfway, but he doesn't drive into the box, overlap or offer any threat himself (a la Leif Davis yesterday), and his crossing isn't all that great either, but we usually have few targets to hit in that box anyway.  It's ironic that he left us last season because he didn't want to play that role Enzo uses because I think his skillset is better suited to that than the current nature of a fullback in getting up and down the line and offering threat.  At this level anyway.

He doesn’t drive forward ala Leif Davis because he’s clearly told tactically not to do it.

His crossing is great and he produced a half chance from it yesterday. He’s set goals at City before with his crosses (Wolves at home). He was highly effective with Bologna using his left leg

Leif Davis has a wand of a left foot and dead ball expert, personally I think he's an upgrade on VK.

Don’t disagree. I’m just saying won’t get VK as high up the pitch as Davis because Cooper has organised his defence that the right back is either pushes on or inverts, so the left back stays ‘at home’ more

If I was going to drill the players on anything, it would be hos to head the ball to a team mate, or to relative safety. Headers go to the opposition all the time!

The second would be how to take a thrown in and retain possession. I swear, we must be the worst at throw ins in the league. It would actually be safer just to knock it straight out and concede a throw in!

But that's not how we started the season. VK was tasked with being the fullback who pushed up and it didn't bare fruit.  It was then changed to the opposite flank.  He has no assists for us this season, and even going back to his successful stint at Bologna he only had 4 for the whole campaign.  And only 2 of those came from crosses.  Whilst I agree it's likely tactical, Coopers literally only got one tactic of trying to push a fullback up and he gave that task to the Dane and it didn't work. Now you can put that down to the rest of Coopers set up and that's fine, but VK wasn't some sort of massive provider at Bologna, one of those 'assists' was just being pulled over in the box. I would dispute that his crossing is great because there's not particularly any evidence of that.

The best thing for me is you can see him showing improvement game by game.

He a little scared with the ball at his feet and rushes it,  but that comes with experience.

Credit has to go to the Coaches for helping him out.

Can't think of a time where Hutchinson beat Kristiansen. I don't really see how Ipswich fans can call another side "doggo" though.

Could but didn't? Hutchinson tried numerous times and didn't get much out of going up against VK, even more impressive that he largely had to do it alone because Mav didn't fancy getting back to support him. I don't think he's been anything special but people seem quick to try and find faults in what was a decent performance.

Told you he is positionally weak but more importantly is a walking car crash he is not calm, composed or even good on the ball - Thomas is a better prospect than him as he is at least decent on the ball - shambles and has been a liability all season !!
