I thought he did alright, particularly in the second half. Bit confused why he’s apparently the scapegoat today? For me the game changed massively when Skipp was hooked and Bobby Reid took his place.

Bobby can play football that's probably why.

Should be starting ahead of Mav though as much stick as Mav gets Skipp offers absolutely nothing,.

Going to finish the season with a worse goals and assist record than he got in the Prem, and probably his worst record in his senior career

Diabolical season from him

Skipp has been good when not partnering Winks. When he plays with Winks, he becomes the most nothing midfielder in existence because he's forced higher up, but not high enough to influence the game (not that it's his skillset anyway). Can't play then together.

Monga did more than Mavididi in that 1 little slide pass and when he burst away from his man than Mavididi has done in about 10 games.

Plenty of candidates for worst player of the season, but it's not even close with Mavididi. He tries but he's just completely lost the plot

I've been a defender of Stephys because he can look dangerous when hes on it but its getting to the point now where I cant remember a goal or assist he's had for ages? He isn't impacting games at all, take him out!

Monga just cannot offer less.

Agree 100%. Kid is 16 and has about the same amount of football in him as this adult former Juventus player. I'd start Monga every time over this guy.

His confidence is shot. Been a few instances this season when he should have scored and he hasn't. Whatever the opposite of the hot hand is, that's what we're seeing.

Unfortunately Monga has dropped off a cliff too and looks a completely different player to the one who started the season.

I would prefer a fit James to start ahead of Skipp but he’s not available then maybe Bobby Reid. Reid definitely isn’t a left winger though! I thought Mavididi was ok yesterday. He’s a winger though, on the peripheries, if we had a more influential midfielder than Skipp playing, better opportunities might be opened up.

He’s allergic to being direct, like Ayew - plays in a maximally selfish way

Will actively let his marker catch him up and get in a position to stand him up rather than just running with the ball. "Baller" nonsense that kills any momentum we have as soon as he gets the ball.

Monga is hardly looking effective when he comes on either. Did nothing against tiring Preston defenders yesterday.

Because he got a few mins and barely touched the ball. But even so, he played one really nice little pass down the sides and then there was the bit where he rolled their player. Might sound ridiculous to even highlight those but Mavididi has got to the point where it's not just that he is not scoring or assisting, nor that he isn't even creating chances, he's also not even able to keep the game moving. He's slowing everything down and he's completely lost any clarity of thought that he's unable to make even a decisive pass to quickly tick things along.

Might not be a season littered with errors (still wasted loads of great openings) but it's far beyond any player I've seen in 30 years in terms of how ineffectual he has been.

I'm searching down the thread list for the Fatawu one. Didn't deserve to come out in the second half but here people are going at stephy.

Because like it or not, Fatawu has bailed us out time and time again. Mavididi is a dead weight

I think we are slowly ruining Monga.

I completely agree, cant remember the last time ive watched him and thought he has looked at changing a game..

But surely he needs to go back to the youth setup,  or should have gone on loan or something..

I just cant see how sitting on the bench every week is doing him any benefit and he's hardly doing much to push for a starting position.

Just feels like he is stagnating.

He must waste so much energy on pointless step overs, twisting and turning. The strange part is how he never does it to beat a player, he's normally passed it backwards or ran himself into trouble by that point.

He’s predictable and his attitude stinks - defenders can read him like a book and the amount of times he creates any danger or opportunity is rare

You're only has good as your last few matches and abdul has been shocking for a fair while now. He's not interested anymore. Sometimes hes not evem watching the ball, needs dropping

This guy has gone to pot this season. How many times does he have to try and beat his man. Should be dropped and never play for us again, useless fecker.

He's such a strange case. He was brilliant for 6 months under Maresca and barely had a decent game since. I loved watching him for the first half of that season, but what has happened to him? So disappointing.

Baller league is calling his name

That's a great shout.

No sane owner or manager of another club sees any redeeming qualities about Mavididi.

No idea when his contract is up but can see him being basically retired at 30.

Looks like he’s fallen out of love with football
