Fair enough, a goalkeeper is always going to be under more scrutiny regardless of academy or not, but I also think people in general should be able to point out weaknesses in his game and it not be linked to bashing academy lads in general.

Totally agree.

Vestergaard was much more at fault than Faes. He's absolutely miles out of position and gets spun on the halfway line leaving Faes totally exposed. Not denying Faes could’ve done better, either. Maybe saying Stolarcyzk was fault/error is a bit harsh but for me it’s a shot he should be saving. But this is why I’m a fan and not a goalkeeper or goalkeeping coach lol

Faes doesn't commit to the challenge until its to late, lets there player run directly at the goal and then his miss times the tackle.

How anyone can blame the goal keeper is wild lol

Yep, agreed. It’s then his job to save a shot that is trickling in to the bottom corner, I would expect any keeper to save that. Error.

And let me just say, if Danny Ward fails to save that shot they scored with last night, the servers on this forum crash.

Come on you cannot put both in the same sentence ward is the worse keeper we have ever had, Jakub championship level ward is conference (if that) and that’s it

You’ve missed the point I was making.

How anyone’s putting the blame solely on Faes is wild.

People too quick to blame him because of their feelings towards him. It was crap from both of them. Vestergaard doesn’t do what he does, he doesn’t put Faes in that position where he’s got someone running at him with a decision to make.

If you’re going to go that high up the pitch as a centre half you’ve got to win the ball. It’s a fundamental.

The goal keeper should not be taking flak for the goal though you said he cost us the game.

JV is at fault for this too many time but managers don’t stop it. For someone so big he might be weaker than Daka. Both our Danes are weak. It’s the same as Soumare watching runners and leaving it for someone else to deal with and chasing when it’s too late.

Yes I get you, but when you make the mistakes that ward made and relegate a club twice, you are going to jump on him for the tiniest mistakes he makes, jakub does not deserve that kind of criticism

Never thought I would see those words in the same sentence.

If Faes commits and gets beaten he is abused everywhere, do not like the bloke but he has not really done much of anything wrong this year, that was Vestegaard over committing and tbf Stolarczyk can do better, but way more worried about the repeat parries back into danger than that, was tough from the distance

Like him... but needs to review how he handles shots... last 3-4 games he has parried the ball back to attacking players.

For me, that's my biggest concern. Sometimes I feel he could catch them, but if he does parry a ball he needs to do it with more force so there's less chance it will be picked up by the opposition.

I think he probably needs a better goalkeeping coach alongside him. The errors he's making are seemingly simple ones that I think he can learn from. Maybe a bit more experience is needed. Friday was only his 41st league game which is really low.

Shocking how bad that keeping was. 99 times out of hundred that chance gets buried.

Behind a dodgy defence you need a keeper who will not make bad mistakes, Jakub at the moment is not really that person .

He's not had a full season starting anywhere. He's going to be learning as he goes. Not point expecting to promote a young keeper that's always been a squad option and then asking why he's not the finished article.

This season he'll learn and grow. I'd expect him to have until at least January probably until next summer to try and own the 1 jersey going forward. We don't have the funds to go and purchase a starting quality keeper and a loan just kicks the can down the road.

Stol has the potential to be a big, commanding keeper with good shot stopping. Distribution and shot deflection are work ons.

.....and people turned their noses up at James Trafford in the transfer forum lol

How many games has Trafford played vs Jakub?

If we pick a keeper that comes through the academy, we have to let them develop. Otherwise what's the point? We are going to get this same attitude everytime one of them becomes a starter.

So let me get this right, we have to have a fully experience top drawer keeper to cover the defence? Also, i personally don't think that save was 'bad' - he was covering the otherside of the wall and the WB player kicked if at waist height right through the wall. And VK didn't track the attacker coming for the rebound.

See Blue tinted Glasses are having a pop at Stolarczyk on X, in pure click baity style.  I'm finding the vendetta against him outright odd.

Really? Very interesting.

Is anyone on here from there? Would be interesting to find out why they have started that weird take.

It said ‘Just a question, does anyone else get worried whenever Jakub has to do something?’

To which many people responded yes, and some disagreed. It’s called having a conversation about a player… if that’s clickbait, then half the posts on here must be the same😂

Yep, Carranza not understanding the concept of a wall and VK being completely asleep didn't help.

What is that lol
