Partly delighted for him but will be  livid if he goes on to have a great season.

Give me 11 good players over good (or new fangled) systems any time.

Has great season, comes back to us, newly promoted and full of positivity.

Result!

We had plenty of good players last season in a crap system how did that go!

We were playing better teams..

I could get this squad promoted, just as I could get Celtic into Europe.

We simply need a routine basic system to go up. Like Micky Adams years ago and Pearson in league one when both had players far too good. The recipe was No frills. Basic system and let the players win their individual battles - which they did.

And before anyone gives me the 'future proofing' argument for the PL, Burnley are getting bummed alive using the same system whilst the hideous Forest grind their way to results.

How many teams have you coached at any level?

My lasting memory of Kristiansen will be that seeing his name on the back of some kids new black shirt after walking away from the Hull game the other day changed my perspective.

I turned to my mate and said, "could be worse, could have VK on the back of my brand new shirt and know that everyone that spots it will silently mock me".

Thanks for the memories, Viktor. xoxox

I don’t know why clubs employ managers if it’s that easy to get a team promoted. Pep might as well leave too as surely you could manage them to another Champions League?

Took lots of positions in the centre of the pitch suggesting they are using him as an inverted full back

Just watched the highlights myself and this is how it looks to me too. Makes you think whether he could have been an asset to us.

Congrats fella to the worst riposte so far  this season.

Can everyone stop posting please, as coolhandfox wants us to have a UEFA Pro licence before critiquing the manager.

No pretty sure he is probably just pointing out that the whole “joke” around being able to walk into the Celtic job or even ours and just walk the league with no experience is just stupid.

Which it is.

Whilst he may have been coming inside at times he was still playing the match mainly as a left back, certainly not playing like an inverted full back completely, taking up positions or being involved in the areas like we have Ricardo doing

Really disappointing that VK went. It does leave us short on that left side and seeing that he has already gotten off to a good start in Italy compounds that. Especially if we were letting Thomas go.

It just seems like he could have been at asset and able to play the Doyle role as well as left back to wing back if we find that we need to adapt in games….

If he has a great season Bologna are going to trigger the option to buy aren't they

Knowing the Italians he could win their player of the season and they'll still only offer us €5m

I went to Villa away last season and thought he was outstanding. Everyone raved about Tete after that game but for me, VK was even more impressive. However, Leeds away last season he was a rabbit in the headlights. So poor. Maybe a season away will do him good.

I don't see any critiquing of the manager, just a claim you could coach a team to promotion from the Championship and into Europe.

Just wonder what gave you the belief you could do it?

I’d just tell the defenders to concede less goals and the attackers to score more.

Easy.

His poor form seemed to coincide with him suffering an injury and then being quickly rusted back. He was superb v Saka when Arsenal came here.

It’s less about ability and more so about his failure to settle here. I’d say that’s more of a criticism in the inner workings of the club than the manager

And then probably sell on at a profit in a very Italian style way of doing business

Someone needs to be on the blower to Pep to warn him that Paninistickers is coming for his job

Yup....he's only 20 years old, they'll keep him for 2 to 3 years after they trigger their option which is around 10m and he gets better they will probably sell him to a top Italian or EPL team for 3 or 4 times as much as they paid for him.

It's such a shame Leicester let him go after afew months considering many sporting articles have said he's up and coming talent from Denmark.
