Overall I think we've done really well. Of course its annoying we've still got some deadwood but it was always going to be a huge task to clear so many players and we have managed to lose all the high earners. The only one left whos unwanted and on high wages will be Daka. Cant see souttar or the keepers being on huge wages.

Fundamentally we've done what we needed.

Moved on by selling or loaning many of those we needed out. Yes we're still left with a few, but that was always going to happen.

We've strengthened well and the side actually look like they give a shit. Few areas still need more support but overall a good window

Exciting incoming players. Good, young and hungry players who will only improve under a manager with a top notch background of developing young talent, and the team will improve together.

The squad we have is more than capable of promotion and possibly getting it done early enough so Enzo can start planning for the next step and get a head start not only on the teams who would come up with us, but also those in the Premier League whose status won't be confirmed by early April. Make no mistake, these are exciting times.

The outgoings have been a mixed bag. It was sad to lose Maddison and Barnes, but the former would have left even if we'd stayed up. Apart from those two, we haven't lost anyone who'll be crucial to us bouncing back. Nacho is a huge keep. What's been more disappointing is the failure to shift more dead wood, especially for money. Rudkin has much to answer for as that may very well have limited our transfer dealings, as I do think that Chair and Piroe in this team would turn us from a side who will be quietly confident of promotion to one that could genuinely threaten Reading's record.

It was sad to loose Maddison and Barnes. I also don't think we got great money for Maddison. However, I think we let him go because it was early in the window which freed up funds to do the business we wanted. I think this was quite shrewd really and has helped massively in our strong start.

Overall good.  Hopefully a loan  or two out in the next couple of weeks - Daka and a keeper.

Wilf and Ndiddi are the key players whose contracts expire next year and we’ve kept them to support the promotion push.  The right call for me but is a risk.

Whose squad is genuinely better than ours?  We have to be aiming for top two

Sorry if this has been posted, but does the loan window re-open for EFL clubs for a short while in about another 2 weeks or has this been scrapped. If so, I could see us picking up another loanee who doesn't make a premier league squad.

Is there a loan window?

If we held out for another 10M or something we might not have had the funds to sign Winks, Coady, and that possibly led to a lot of the others.

There used to be for EFL clubs. It opened about 2 weeks after the transfer window closed for about 3 weeks but I don't know if this has been scrapped (I never really took that much notice when we were in the Prem). I assume if it is still running, you'd need space in your squad to accommodate any new loan players?

Overall it looks promising. Whenever you get relegated you'd expect the squad to look worse than in did before but actually there's certain positions where it's improved or not got noticeably worse. GK looks better, Coady and Doyle for Soyuncu and Amartey doesn't look that much worse, Winks for last year's Tielemans doesn't either, and just having a right winger is better than nobody.

My concern would be if Maresca doesn't work out. People complained about Rogers having too much power at the club but Maresca seems to have been given alot of sway in these transfers. If we did need to change manager, we're gonna have to find someone who plays a very similar way to Maresca and doesn't particularly like full backs.

Sorry to read Barnes has gone from Leicester . Should have been stayed.  If Barnes had played in the Turkish National team and was one of the player of the three biggest clubs, he would always have been selected in fist team .

The window is closed for incoming transfers but Saudi teams have still got a week to come in and get any of our players. So it be nice to get a few million for our surplus goalies.

Happy with the signings we have brought in.

Could have done with shifting a couple more like Ward, Soumare, Daka and Souttar if they are not going to be involved.

It’s definitely a rebuild and a fairly decent one at that. Pissed we’ve still got deadwood knocking about

To be fair though, we just don't know how that 'deadwood' will respond.  If players like daka and souttar have the right attitude and feel they have a) something to prove or b) want to show they're worth buying in january - we'll have some players on our hands that are more than competent at this level.

And Ward and Iversen

Just about Yes for the outgoings, from me. But it's not a "good" outgoing window. Maddison and Barnes really do the heavy lifting but keeping hold of 5 GK is ridiculous.

Shame we couldn't shift Daka and Souttar but they should be able to come into the squad.

Regarding the goalkeepers - i don't think there's much else we could have done.

1 We signed, because we had to build the team around a ball-playing keeper, which we didn't have apart from

2 A keeper who has got promoted from the youth side because we needed a back up ball-playing keeper.

3 is a veteran who doesn't mind being 3rd choice

4 is the only real disappointment, that we couldn't find a buyer for Iversen

5 no one wants a broken keeper, sadly we're probably stuck with him.

I'm guessing 4 and 5 won't be part of the 25 man squad?

Although pretty happy with our business

any injuries in full back positions, we are struggling.. would have liked a LB in..

Given that we're effectively playing with three centre backs and 1 inverted FB

depth:

CB

1. Faes, Coady, Doyle

2. Justin, vestergaard, suttar,

3. Ndidi, hamza, nelson

FB

1. Ricardo

2. Hamza

3. Justin

granted the drop off is a little sharp but at this level we really shouldn't struggle with our defenders.

Next season,on loan FBs are again available..Plus those that will be this season playing a different role..

Exactly, 10M more would have been nice, but what price having the fulcrum of the team training from day 1...
