They still think we sing "Champions of England you'll never sing that" at them lol

Thick as mince.

That’s what you get when you call a club in Nottinghamshire County, Nottingham Forest rather than Notts Forest.

The "we don't care about Leicester" really doesn't stick, does it? lol

Just an easy coping mechanism for the 25 years we were better than them. Will be the same again when the tables turn.

The funniest thing is that it'll be one season, they'll get dumped out before February by someone like Besiktas and it'll be down to Earth with a bump and no trophies.

Not sure they'll need Ryanair for Aberdeen and Shrewsbury.

Happy to laugh at Forest if they blow the top 5, but the denigration of the Conference League from English fans in general is very silly. They'll mostly be good away trips to well supported clubs who are unlucky to be playing in leagues that UEFA have locked out of elite football. Smacks of English arrogance and prejudice, especially when you look at the some of the soulless out of town bowls in post-industrial hell holes we have in this country.

It was an enjoyable competition when we were in it, admittedly.

But Forest spending most of the season banging on going to Barcelona and Bayern Munich and claiming they're going to be 'back in their rightful place,' only to be boarding Wizz Air flights to Vilnius and catching the train to Shrewsbury is objectively hilarious.

It will be, but beyond that there is an attitude in England to the Conference league, and even the Europa league, which goes back years and comes across as at best arrogant and at worst xenophobic. I'm not saying that's why my fellow Foxestalkers are wallowing in Forest's poor form, but it definitely exists in this country in general.

I think it's because those competitions have been so diluted by the expansion of the Champions League. There will be six English teams in it next season, one of whom after an appalling Premier League season, five Spanish, four German and four Italian sides.

No drop downs from the UCL after the new league stage diluted it further still. There will at least be excellent clubs in the UEL next season from abroad, with Dortmund currently in it with Roma and Real Betis but the sheer size of the UCL nowadays means there are some poor sides in it.

Go to the UECL and its another step down. You now have six English teams in the UCL, two in the UEL and then one more in the UECL. I'm sure that fans of Rayo Vallecano, Mainz and Lazio would much rather be going to Tottenham or Manchester United than Forest, Brentford or Brighton. Clubs like The New Saints and Vikingur Reykjavik, by contrast, now get a chance to play in European football against English, Spanish, Italian and German opposition- even if the venues are more City Ground than the Bernabeu. But being a Big Day Out for a semi-professional side and going straight from work to Shrewsbury, after a season of wistfully Googling hotels near La Ramblas and AirBNBs in Milan, must feel a bit disappointing. Long story short, UEFA need to make the gap smaller between the competitions.

disagree, would have hit all those away games if it had been leicester, especially astana, it would have been class. We had cracking  away days at warsaw  and Copenhagen, previously, even though we lost and drew 0/0.

Maybe. I'd rather be planning those away trips than what's coming for us next season.

They would be fun away days, no doubt. But so was League One. We had fantastic days out at Hereford, Southend and Leyton Orient, but it doesn't mean I'd want to ever be going there in league fixtures again.

Chelsea fans who go regularly genuinely are chuffed they’ve had a year of differing trips rather than the standard CL trips (quite homogenous once you’ve been in it for a few years). Same applies to Man U with EL. I think that was @bovril point
