I think we’ll win this league with possibly a record points tally.

But what I saw tonight tells me that it won’t be because we are a particularly good side.
It’s primarily because the standard of the opposition in the Championship is pretty awful.

Sunderland tonight carved us open many times but could not hit a barn door. Claims that they were the best side we’ve played are true to an extent that they came and had a go. But in the final third they were woeful.

The summer will be interesting. This season, we are SO much better than the opposition that they might as well crown us champions now.

But boy, will we have to invest in the summer or it’ll be another very tough season I imagine.

But, for now, get your money on City getting 100 points for the season. The opposition this season are rubbish by comparison

We need at least 4 players for the team, 2xCbs, a CM a striker. I agree Sunderland were poor in front of goal. If we could get at least 2 of those 4 players in January it would be a good start. The striker with 2 of our 4 away at Afcon maybe worth going for, and a CM

Honestly, that should be a target

We’ll get far more than 70 points

First team we’ve played who I am certain will be in the top 6 at the end of the season.
They played well, but if we take our chances that could have been 3 or 4. Referee wasn’t great, which was a shame, both teams could/ should have had a penalty.

But we take another 3 points and move on to QPR.

Good post and I agree.

Striker and CB will be the most important positions imo.

I love Nacho for his commitment and love of the club, but we don’t want to be starting next season with him as our main goal scorer.
But as I said, for now, enjoy the ride 👍

I wouldn't be surprised if on the downlow, Enzo has set it as an extra target, man has the airs of a perfectionist

It brings me back to my belief that the top flight and the second tier are worlds apart and the gap just gets ever bigger.

It is but we will of course strengthen.

It’s very likely we get starters in for striker, a number 8 position, a winger and both CB positions at minimum.

It has to be said, the standard of finishing in the Championship leaves a bit to be desired.

There's a reason why good strikers cost £££££££££

I doubt they’ll be top 6. Top 6 will contain sides with a good standard striker.

Leeds will be second

Wasn't overly impressed watching that to be honest.  Looked a bit ragged when up against a team that really had a go.  Which is weird because I thought any team that did that we would walk through.  Missed Ndidi no question.

I still don't like this pissing around at the back though.  I get it for the sake of slowing play, waiting for the right opportunities, but sometimes we are overplaying it and getting in to trouble. We have to learn when to do it and when to clear it and reset if we are under the cosh a bit.

Yea we could of had a couple more goals tonight but if Sunderland had any strikers that had scored this season, it could have been a different story.

First team that really tried to attack us at home. Fair play.

Never really felt threatened. I’m not sure who the MOTM was, but Casadei is certainly in with a shout.

Sunderland won't play any better all season.  They threw everything at us with the usual abysmal Championship level finishing.

And thanks to their keeper playing the game of his career and despite us never getting out of 2nd gear, we should have scored 5.

And this table:

it's looking decent.
