Getting dropped off by the Mrs but she's a nervous driver so wants somewhere fairly familiar to her. This place seems ideal as it's far enough from the ground to avoid any road closures Would she be ok with the Lidle further up? Might be a safer bet and less busy. 1
Pita Posted 29 November 2023 Posted 29 November 2023 I agree trust in the manager. But there is nothing like playing to get match fit and learn all the systems leaving him for Afcon replacement could be a tough call against stronger teams.

Agreed. Just think he likes to put it to them particularly and would be really up for a start rather than super-sub.

How about Tesco or Morrisons on Langsett Road? Couple of tram stops or 15mins walk to ground and on the town/ring road side of the ground rather than past the stadium.

Don’t park on Herries road heard cars get vandalised on there , there’s a car park at the back of the petrol station next to the Burger King think it’s £5 it’s at the end of leppings lane . Railway pub a 5 minute walk back up Halifax road ( A61) is for home and away fans . Loads of free parking in the back streets off the A61 further up from Sainsburys .
Spudulike Posted 29 November 2023 Posted 29 November 2023 Be careful leaving your car in supermarket car parks. The parking cowboys (Parking Eye etc) want your money. 1

Defo. - and the small print on the car park signs are a lot less visible in the early evening dark at this time of year of course, if one isn't parking up there until that time of day....

The only problem with Tom is that he needs to be patient and continue to work. He’s a striker and we have Jamie, we have Kele, and we have Pato (Daka), who’s not even joining us in the squad, so it’s complicated. Tom, he has to continue in the way he is working. We’ll see. Tom probably because of his age, he has full energy. He can help us off the ball a lot because he works very hard. On the ball, his finishing is very good. But it’s just a matter of time with him.” Not 100% conclusive, but it doesn't sound like Maresca is preparing to throw Cannon in from the start... Sounds like he’s saying his all round game isnt meeting the standards of the others. Which in fairness… should be true given the pedigree of all 3 of them.

adejo92 Posted 29 November 2023 Posted 29 November 2023 The Wednesday forum is a barrel of laughs and they are expecting a heavy defeat. I don't see it being a heavy defeat myself. What's peoples honest score predictions? 2-1 I think.

It sounds as if Cannon is very eager to get game time, but Maresca is unwilling to throw him in right now, not due to any shortfall in Cannon's application. If you look at Manchester City, Mahrez was used sparingly when he turned up and Grealish was not seeing much pitch time in his first season. Indoctrinating players into the style of play seems to be the way, but Cannon's natural instincts could be eroded if they are looking to change the way he plays. 1

Bablemikey Posted 29 November 2023 Posted 29 November 2023 (edited) Last time I was there was the cup replay. Parked on some blokes driveway who offered to look after it when he saw me looking for a space. Wished us good luck too!!! And it was still there when I came back Edited 29 November 2023 by Bablemikey 1
