It's not - but we're not the finished article - we have loads of room for improvement.  And, to be fair, it was a really scrappy game generally.

We've had more luck if that's what you can call it so far this season than the whole of last.

Brilliant away win against one of the leagues best teams in form. We really dug that out. It’s all about fine margins. Last few games we haven’t been quite as hungry and missing chances that we took in early games. There are some decent teams in the league and they can hurt us if we are not bang on it. Tough game and thought we did really well. Not sure about the substitutions to be honest but good line up and Kel did well. That midfield of ndidi winks and kdh is key. Best defensive lineup too.

Fair play to West Brom for going for the win as well I know it probably looks a bit daft now as we countered them but we would have wanted to push for the win as well sometimes it works sometime it doesn’t

Pretty average all around, although I thought KDH and Wilf were brilliant for the whole match. KDH's motor is utterly elite. He never tires. Fatuwu was also good when he came on.

West Brom seemed well prepared and cut off many of our passing lanes. A tricky fixture.  A lucky escape, hope we learn some lessons from it.

I thought Kel was bang average but that last pass to start the break away was just chefs kiss amazing. Fair play. 

 

You do understand that after teams score the opponent usually step it up?  Especially a form team, in front of their home fans.

I'd rather our next 4 games over Southampton, Leeds and Ipswich fixtures..  minimum 3 wins and a draw.. 4 wins and we could be back to 10/12 clear of third easily

I think this is completely wrong to be honest. And completely misunderstanding "the philosophy."

 

The whole point of passing it around between Winks, Vestergaard and Hermansen right inside our own box is to try and draw teams out so they aren't parking the bus so that we CAN move quickly through the opposition. 

 

The idea that Maresca doesn't want us to counter attack quickly is completely false and rather silly given the entire point of our build up is to try and create chances to counter. It's not like Rodgersball where we pass the ball sideways a thousand times in front of the opposition box is it? 

 

"Completely against the philosophy" would be something like bringing on a seven foot striker and lumping it at his head from every goal kick. 

 

Please can we fvck off with this myth thag Enzoball is negative or slow or anti fun or anti excitement. Maresca wants us to score quick, efficient goals exactly like that but you can't do it when 99% of the teams in the league are terrified of us and tend to have most of their team sat in their own box refusing to move.

Even before the winner it was still miles better than Wednesday, more so considering it was against a side who are actually half-competent. Wilf was great, as was Vestergaard.

Interesting to hear Winks say we have carte blanche in final third to be creative and attacking. Doesn't seem like that at times watching it, but maybe we simply need the players themselves to seek to be more creative up front with confidence.
