The Goats last year of Contract

JV into the last year of his Contract with a few rumours saying he’s off to Saudi or he’s retiring or he’ll get another extension for a year who or what to believe , but the Guy is Mr Leicester City the greatest player to have ever pulled on the Jersey of our great club what’s your thought what will be his plans at 37 on the 11th of this month do you think he’s got another season in him even when we make it straight back up to the EPL ?

 

At the age of 37 will he sign another extension or will he bow out gracefully I’m in the mind he still something to offer and can play another season be it off the bench especially if Cannon continues his fine scoring form after a successful full home debut, whatever he decides this guy has gone down in history as the greatest ever player to play for our club a player that has been loyal even when Arsenal came in for him the year after our greatest ever achievement he stayed because we wanted him when no one else did we stuck with him when his first season was a nightmare then He got into a scoring rout  and never looked back that amazing performance against Man United 5-3 he just oozed confidence and took on the worlds best and at times made them look like fools winding up opposition fans with his quality goal celebrations winning the title a quarter final of the champions league an FA Cup win Community shield win even scoring sublime goals for England against Germany that back heel the Guy has been and always be a Legend !

 

So what’s Next for our GOAT another year of playing getting his coaching badges, teaching his knowledge to the next JV ( if only we could find another !)  maybe going into management or Punditry who knows but I’m so glad this Goat played for us and not against us a player at his prime that was unplayable who made scoring look easy I for one am so glad I got to see him play for us and England I’m sure whatever he does next it’ll only be done the JAMIE VARDY WAY !!

The greatest player ever to play for my team. My personal hope is he bags himself a nice Saudi payday and leaves us with a lifetime of unbelievable memories. I wouldn't like to see him reduced to being a (very expensive) bench cheerleader next year, he deserves way more than that.

Presuming he doesn't re-sign with us for a last hurrah in the Prem, I'm not sure we'll see much more of him

I won't criticize you for a fanboy post because where JV is concerned, we are all fanboys.

 

That said, clubs are business concerns and FFP is a thing.

 

I'll just repeat that Vardy is in serious decline.  We all watch the games.

 

We know his financial situation thanks to a certain court case in which his wife burned over a million pounds.  He needs a last payday, probably a two or three year contract in MLS or the Saudi league.  To keep him here would require 10% of the payroll for at least his 38 and 39 year old seasons.  That's a very obvious "no" for a club that has to rebuild its squad for a much, much tougher challenge next season.

There's not much room for sentimentality in football nowadays but for me Vardy is the exception. None of what's happened over the last decade would've happened without this man. Let him do whatever he wants to do and if he leaves let's make it a huge furore unlike when we let Kasper out of the back door without a goodbye

Feel like Albrighton leaving at the end of the season will understandably get a bit overshadowed by Vardy leaving too, Marc deserves a huge send off by the fans and club as well

There’s no room for pragmatism here, in my book. This incredible period ends only when he decides it is time to, even if we have to wheel him out on the pitch or pop him out on the wing with his zimmer frame.

Now you mention it I can't think of a recent one. It's a shame if they're no longer a thing

May be wrong but I’m sure I remember the club announcing on its website Andy King would get a testimonial after covid (as he left during the time fans weren’t allowed in stadiums) but it never happened. 
 

Schmeichel nor Morgan got one either

Testimonial or not, this summer when things are a bit more positive would make an awful lot of sense for an exhibition charity game. LCFC Champions XI Vs Chelsea perhaps? Or against Cagliari if Claudio makes it to the end of the season.

The club love charity stuff for the foundation, would raise a bloody fortune, sell out in minutes and probably do decent number online PPV on the club site. 

 

It's a crying shame it never happened, but if it doesn't happen this year, some of the legs might not make it onto the pitch for more than 10 mins
