Snooker 2024

The Crucible is such a niche venue though, as I stated in my post, the intimacy of The Crucible is partly why the World Championship is so special. Can another venue have that effect, in my opinion it would pretty much have to be a carbon copy of The Crucible to make it work.

But regarding Hearn’s comments yesterday, he’s stated numerous times in recent years, that a purpose built venue for Snooker is what he wants in Sheffield. This talk is nothing new, but of course it’s been ramped up because the contract is running out, plus the likes of Saudi & Qatar are supposedly sniffing around. Is this just Hearn’s tactic of pushing the blame onto Sheffield, should it move after 2027.

In a perfect World the World Championship would stay somewhere in the UK, but of all the overseas names that are being branded about, you could make a seriously good case for moving it to China. Somewhere like Saudi or Qatar would make it lifeless, the fear of it going there will only ramp up in the coming years.

Regarding this, I always go by train, but parking wise Ponds Forge is probably your best bet, it’s only down the road from The Crucible 👍🏻

They've already made up a 5th major for the sport. Unfortunately I can only see it going there 😔

Allen v Higgins the pick of round 2 on paper.

Higgins will fall outside the top 16 if he doesn't win, didn't realise that until yesterday, form must have been worse than I thought those he looks alright against Jamie Jones.

If only he hadn't messed up that last frame yesterday, snookering himself on frame ball. He'd have been done and dusted and back in Swad for tea.

He could still be in Potters for 8:30 tonight and then a nice weekend off before going again Tuesday.

Any snooker can be good snooker but you'd feel a bit short changed if you had tickets for tonight. None of the big names and one match over in less than 20 minutes. At least there is another match to watch but probably decent price for table side seats and end up watching the other table lol

Just a random thought but not spotted the Coventry fan Brian in the front row this year.He was always a fixture at the Crucible

Apparently someone tweeted he has been there but also obviously made a trip to Wembley.

Si goes hot/cold yet again and Jak Jones becomes the most non descript player of all time to make the quarters. Unless Trump is on his Z game Jak Jones is getting hammered.

Jak jones comes across as a right misery when he's playing, he seemingly feels everything goes against him all the time, takes ages on easy shots, mutetring to himself etc...no idea what he's like off the table, but doesnt really endear himself.

Bingham seems alright diesnt he?

Talking away to Lisowski inbetweeners frames is quite nice actually.

It's not snooker players are trying to knock each other out so dont understand why more dont have a quick chat.

As soon as you get back on the table you should be back in the zone of banging the  balls in.
