dannythefox Posted 26 January 2024 Posted 26 January 2024 I honestly think he’s the sort of lad to say he doesn’t want to go at the minute. Please prove me right. 2
Tommy Fresh Posted 26 January 2024 Posted 26 January 2024 Seems very unlike Brighton to look at a player of this profile during this window that they know will set them back a few quid.

As cosbeh said the other week were in deep financial shit and need to sell in the summer regardless so maybe makes it better sense to sell now then leave it to a narrow 4 week window in June. Fair enough, but if that were the case the splurge over the Summer seems out of place with this rhetoric, so buggered if I know what to make of it.

Molson Canadian Posted 26 January 2024 Posted 26 January 2024 Skysports: Brighton and Brentford lead chase for Dewsbury-Hall Brighton and Brentford both want to sign Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester before the deadline. Sky Sports News understands formal negotiations are yet to begin and bids will have to be substantial for Leicester to let their star player go. Leicester need to sell a player to be able to bring one in this month and stay in line with Profit & Sustainability Rules (PSR). Selling a homegrown player from their academy would present a big profit margin but Dewsbury-Hall is currently a fundamental part of the Enzo Maresca's first-team. 1
CrispinLA in Texas Posted 26 January 2024 Posted 26 January 2024 Brighton do like like to buy cheap and then sell high to the top 4 clubs
FrankieADZ Posted 26 January 2024 Author Posted 26 January 2024 real question is, who would KDH replace in that Brighton starting 11 atm, for me he would be on their bench

But at a board level we have so much arrogance and ignorance.

We still have enough to get over the line this season and I think we’d need better to consolidate next season regardless imo Exactly this. The amount of times people pile in and say he's not good enough. Its happens consistently. Now all of a sudden, he's irreplaceable. To some degree, i think a number of us have taken leave of our senses. I appreciate the energy, but KDH doesn't define this system. The wingers bring the energy and we actually need more technical players in the middle. KDH isn't good enough for us to be commanding 40mil + fees. He's not going to feature for England, and post PL teams (outside the dross in the bottom 3) have midfielders that will get picked over him. 5
UniFox21 Posted 26 January 2024 Posted 26 January 2024 I'm assuming the independent regulator talk for the Prem has kicked the league into gear regarding clubs breaking of FFP. And now they're trying to show they don't need regulating. And having seen how much they're hunting to fine clubs we're shitting the bed

You'd argue the same last season too but the club just sat there and watched.

This kind oif dumb decision is exactly the kind of thing senior management might do, given they learnt nothing at all last season and nobody in charge took any fallout for the complete and total failure of all (men's) footballing aspects of the club last season. Totally different thing - they took a decision to abide by FFP rules (clever now when we see how everton have been punished) with the hope that they would still have enough to survive (which, on paper, was a reasonable assumption at th etime). A KDH sale is about the idea of risking a payment to really strengthen our FFP position just to make a quick hit that will have a far more limited impact on FFP. If they made that first decision to follow FFP, it would follow suit that they would go for the big boost rather than the minor
