Sounds like something someone in Texas would say.

Pre season. It'll get worse. I got into a rather fiery exchange about what washing machine setting is best for the LCFC official beach towels last July.

God, don’t get me started. The pissing backlash when I mentioned ironing my son’s kit. Some scruffy gits on here I tell ya! 😂

My Mum butchered many of my Retro shirts ironing them.

Makes me laugh that to take a moral stand against something is being ridiculed because 'other stuff in the world is morally bankrupt too'.

Whataboutery at its finest.

You fight the battles you want and have the energy to fight and hope that others have the energy to fight the other battles for you.

It's like donating to Cancer Research and someone else calling you a pr!ck for not donating to UNICEF.

Makes me laugh that to NOT take a moral stand against the football club you support is being ridiculed by those who choose to use their energy to rail against their own club on here.

Equally ‘whattaboutery’ if you want to use that annoying buzzword that’s used often these days to quell any alternative opinion.

It’s like choosing to buy and wear a Leicester Shirt and someone being abusive to you on this thread because you haven’t taken their extreme stance against the club your support, at a time when all extra revenue will benefit the club’s survival in the Premier League.

I haven't ridiculed anybody.

As I've said above, fight the battles you want to fight and have the energy for. You don't have to personally become involved in taking a stand against it, we each only have a certain amount of capacity.

But ridiculing others for taking a stand isn't the way either. And the arguments that other morally bankrupt things happen in the world or perhaps we should wait for a multi-million pound sponsorship deal from Amnesty International are quite weak in my opinion.

I love this club and would rather it isn't corrupted by sheer greed or the insatiable desire to compete at the top level at the expense of human rights abuses, military coups, undermining democracy, etc.

I’ve asked some distant relatives if they would, heard nothing back. Nan has sponsored £5.00 though, bless her.

Let's see who the actual shirt sponsor is in the end. However, if it turns out to be the one muted on here I will not be purchasing a shirt. If you consider that to be an extreme stance against a club I support, I respect your opinion, though I have to say I completely disagree. For me it is a decision based on my moral views and a decision I'm completely comfortable with.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and providing it is not based upon ignorance then it should be respected. However, whilst you may consider not buying a shirt extreme what I consider extreme is that for some the very word survival doesn't equate to the mere survival of a wealthy club in the Premier League but to the actual fight for life that goes on in many totalitarian states known for human rights abuses and for the murder of many of its population including ethnic minorities.

The comment which sparked my original response on this thread and subsequent discussion was the one that stated fvck king power and fvck every fan who wears the shirt. Fans like me will buy the shirt for ourselves and for our kids because we want the current LCFC shirt, irrespective of sponsor. That’s not ignorance, that’s weighing up what we choose to prioritise as a fan supporting a football club. That position should be as respected as those fans who choose not to wear the shirt because of their standpoint.

If you look back through this thread, most of the ridicule has come from those taking the stand against the club and the potential sponsors. As someone not taking that stand I’ve had my intellect questioned, been accused of whattaboutery and of ignorance! I just want to switch off every weekend and enjoy watching the foxes, and sometimes I’ll wear a crap overpriced polyester adidas LCFC shirt whether that says King Power, FBS, PTT or Pukka fkin Pies on the front. We aren’t sponsored by Ed Sheeran or Flamingo Land so it’s not all bad.

Fair enough, I can't argue with that. Football is supposed to be escapism, etc. And I'd be a huge hypocrite to criticise you after just saying that we each choose our battles.

I stand by the whataboutery as that is literally what happened, but I apologise if I caused offence.

Have a good day
