She was great but the script was so good.

They both played off each other but Cleese was so much better IMO.

Dick Cheney

He was slightly before my time interested in politics but his Wikipedia page is a greatest hits when it comes to the worst of the worst. The worst excess of American neo-conservatism, culpable for the death of hundreds of British soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq as well as the absolute destruction of a fairly stable country and ultimately the rise of ISIS. A truly horrible piece of work. Rest in hell Dick.

This one passed me by at the time, I regret.

John Lodge, bass player with The Moody Blues, aged 82.  In the late 60s and early 70s the Moodies were ever present in the album charts.  Albums were composed of songs written largely by individual band members, I've included a couple by John Lodge.  By the way, Emily was his infant daughter.

Just realized that Oscar nominated Pauline Collins died at 85.  She had early fame with Upstairs Downstairs and was an original Liver Bird.  She always looked as though she was having fun, whichever part she played.

I often think how awful Bush and Cheney seemed at the time but how moderate they now seem compared to what's in place currently.

Eh?

The post you are replying to outlines the death and destruction Cheney (and Rumsfeld) gleefully caused.

For all their faults, Trump/Vance don't appear to enjoy war and death

All of them belong in this thread though.

Yep Trump is a raging narcissist whose evil can be directly linked to that. Vance is just odd. People like Cheney hated Trump because he was a barrier to their unfettered ambition of American imperial hegemony. A truly, truly evil ideology.

I invite you to consider what the reaction might be if 9/11 happened on trump's watch

I love the idea of Trump as a "barrier to American imperial hegemony" after threatening to annex Canada and Greenland and help ethnically cleanse Gaza to redevelop it as a new Dubai, all within a few months.

What Trump says and what Trump does are often poles apart.

I think it was a Sony.
He broke his previous one by whacking a tea towel on it trying to kill a fly.
