Chris Rea no longer driving home for Christmas 😟

He wasn't when he wrote the songĀ

Ā

He was banned and he came up with the song whilst being driven home by his partnerĀ

Sad news that actor James Ransome, has been found dead after an apparent suicide. Many will remember him as Ziggy from The Wire, but he'd starred in a lot of movies over the years. Only 46. Very sad. RIP.

Fantastic in Generation Kill

Everyone will know Chris Rea for the Christmas song but some of his other more famous songs are absolutely incredible. Josephine is a particular favourite.

Always liked Stainsby Girl

Actually, I think you'll find that the reason he was banned was because he was writing the song while driving.

One of my favourites before he passed. But poignant now.

Is it just me or have more famous people/celebrities died in this year than in any other previously?

Ā

Regarding Chris Rea, I'll always remember him for this gem:

You couldn't escape this in 1986, then again in 1988. Played everywhere, everyday.

From what I remember, 2016 (or at least the end of) was pretty bad for celebrities passing as well.Ā

Yeah, that's what I recall too, it seemed like one a day around late 16. šŸ˜ž

Isaiah Whitlock Jr. – most will know him from The Wire as Clay Davis. Died on December, 30th, at age 71.

The Wire seems to have lost more than it’s’fair’share of actors in recent years, with James Ransone’s death happening just two weeks ago.Ā
