Surprisingly great game. Georgia has been showcasing some impressive attacking football.

I love games like these where you're really not expecting much from it and it over delivers

Yes. It's what tournament football is all about. I love it.

Lack of bribery to win the tournament or the remarkably few slaves dying during stadium construction? 😁

Both  but some other big things.

1. The FANS. Listen to the noise at the games! Real passion being transmitted in the stadiums. This game is a great example.

2. The location. Germany is a proper football country, is easy to get to, fan friendly. The sights of the fans interacting before the games is everythign Qatar wasn't.

3. The time of year. It is maybe unfair for countries that have climates that can't handle summer tournaments, but the summer post season makes much more sense for such competitions. Breaking up the season killed the last world cup before it started.

4. Quality of the teams. Qatar themselves were rubbish. So far only Scotland (hate to say it) have embarrased themselves. Croatia got smacked by three but still had opportunities. Georgia today showing why they qualified. Poland will probably finish bottom of their group but had a go. Austria under Ragnick played like a club team.

In terms of games, the World Cup did have some good ones, even early in the tournament. The final was also epic. But largely it was forgettable.

Atmosphere sounds unreal.

The whole place has been ridiculous since we arrived. Walked to the stadium with the Turkish march and never seen anything like it.

Best 45 mins of football I’ve seen in ages as well.

Journalist on Twitter just claimed that a Dortmund steward told them it’s louder than BVB
