Enzo wont be out of work long, Tottenham i can imagine would be banging on his door before his p45 reaches him.

He is so Spurs once Frank gets sacked

The team he had  here was vastly better than those Marti is working with….Vardy, Wilf, a committed Winks, Dewsbury Hall, better keeper, and the rest…..no comparison….could be argued if we did (likely won’t) get up via play offs, it’s a better achievement than two years ago…..

Looking at Chelsea fans online most want maresca gone...describing his football as turgid and boring. He's going to be the same every where he goes, dunno if Man city would enjoy that type of football

the difference at Man City is he’ll have some input in the type of player he signs, unlike at Chelsea. He’s said several times recently that he’s wanted to get some players in with a bit more experience, not just young stars. Some who can stamp their authority on the game.

Points wise they're as close to 16th as they are to 2nd to be fair. I don't think he's done a terrible job but this season hasn't been great. People like Palmer are being hidden a bit in the system too.

I think the bigger impact will be the one we felt too: an organised and thought out transfer approach. They'll go back to scatter gun signings now and will be a mess.

Its no surprise this has boiled over once all the rumours to Man City started. I think Man City has always been the goal for him, and so you can imagine already fragile relationships have soured.

Be interesting to see if Chelsea stick to their guns and he resigns. He seems the sort that would do, especially if there have been talks with City.

So do we see:

  • Enzo resign (and has contract agreed to replace Pep next season)
  • Lampard to Chelsea
  • Rooney to Coventry

I’m friends with some clued up Chelsea fans and they don’t lay the blame with him. Their stupid squad building means they just can’t put out good XIs consistently.

If they spent half the money and bought fewer players they’d be better off.

Chelsea confirm Maresca exit

Chelsea have confirmed that Enzo Maresca has left the club.

A statement reads: "Chelsea Football Club and Head Coach Enzo Maresca have parted company.

"During his time at the Club, Enzo led the team to success in the UEFA Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup. Those achievements will remain an important part of the Club’s recent history, and we thank him for his contributions to the Club.

"With key objectives still to play for across four competitions including qualification for Champions League football, Enzo and the Club believe a change gives the team the best chance of getting the season back on track.

"We wish Enzo well for the future."

Definitely a better squad but he’s clearly a quality manager.

I have no doubts we would’ve stayed up if he was convinced to stay

Funny this all drops after links with Man City and Pep retiring!

Yep, I said it from the start.

Enzo Maresca will be the next Man City manager when Pep retires.

Yep the brand of football was half irrelevant. We had a leader again. First time since Pearson we actually had someone that had a vision. If the club really back him, he could’ve signed a long term contract and Chelsea would’ve never been an option. He’s actually done ok at Chelsea.

Ranieri was a dreadful leader in his first season and had no vision
