bit harsh, we were defending 95% of the game, he's an attacking winger, not a midfielder or a full back

It really isn't. Said in the match thread that you can't expect anything from him in a game like that, so I'm not holding it against him, but he looked like he'd never seen a football and gave it away pretty much every single time

This bloke is the incarnation of Bertrand.

When buying an older player you have to be absolutely certain that he still has the desire, that he is not injury prone and you have to make sure you don't put him on a ludicrously long contract.

I expect him to be injured any time soon

A truly shocking signing

To be fair, if you watched Mavididi today, I think most people would be championing their own grandmothers ahead of Stephy lol

And yet the manager left him on throughout…

He'll be like Bertrand, start a few games, drop to the bench, eventually drop out the match day squad, take forever to come back from an injury and generally hang around bleeding the club dry until his contract runs out. Why do we never learn. One if those signings every decide is bad and two in short space of each other is criminal.

I'd love cooper to explain what BdcR does generally and what he was supposed to do yesterday? Ive banged on repeatedly. BdcR is a nothing player. He offers nothing.

Apart from saying something about experience,.I doubt cooper could actually name something tangible, like:

'he works the channels'

'hokds the ball up'

'wins free kicks'

'pace on the break'

'to shore up midfield'

'interceptions and tackles'

None of the above are applicable. So, can Cooper explain what BdcR was supposed to do?

As an example, let's say we brought on McAteer instead, i could have pointed out;

Bit of extra height to defend set pieces and use his fitness to run hard down that left flank to relieve some pressure

I’ve said this so many times but Reid and Ayew are causing more harm to the academy/PSR issues than helping.

I don’t know if Kasey is good enough for the PL but we’ll never know as you say, picking Reid to come on is naivety at best…other than having played in the PL, what does he offer?

I agree wholeheartedly on BCD however I do think Ayew could be useful as he has a high work rate and has a great attitude which will also help Fatawu and Mavididi but your right two signings like this made no sense at all!

I'm far from convinced McAteer is good enough. But 100% he has fitness and a respectable amount of standard pace. And 100% he has some height. If nothing else, those are two aspects BdcR doesn't possess. Yesterday it was an agonising watch when the ball broke out wideish in midfield and BdcR tried to take on someone. It wasn't there. He couldn't do it.

If you are signing BdcR because he was free and has some premier league experience. We might as well have just offered Marc Albrighton a 1 year deal.

Fuchs to Bertrand esque.

Yeah Ayew did play well in some of the earlier games this season. Agree both odd signings now. maybe 10 years ago.

FM don't even go there.

To have kept MA for another year rather than to have signed this chump on vastly inflated wages is unforgivable

Woah! Woah! Easy there!

Next you'll be saying we could have made a change more than 90 seconds from the end of the 9 minutes stoppage time

He won us that game. His introduction brought a level of co fusion to Southampton that they hadn't thought was there.

Can't stop giggling 😂😂😂

They thought they had the draw locked in when he came on and fell asleep for the corner.

It was an extraordinary cameo. Chaos theory I suppose.

But seriously, there needs to be a steward's enquiry as to what's going on. He's Ward level. He doesn't look a pro footballer. I'm sure he used to be. Bit he ain't now.
