Fozdog Posted 18 November 2024 Posted 18 November 2024 I do not believe it at all. Leicester do not do shortlists, or for that matter, lists at all when it comes to coaching appointments.

simpmeister Posted 18 November 2024 Posted 18 November 2024 Not ITK whatsoever but I do know somebody who speaks every so often with Wes Morgan due to living nearby..Apparantly Wes said last week that Coopers a really nice guy but the players arent having him in the slightest and nobody really respects him. Vardy isn't a fan at all (as a coach) supposedly. If this is true, surely the writings on the wall. 1

Although I'm really not in the know that all makes sense from the indiscretions from one of the players, the players on field actions and their general body language. I think to go from Enzo, in terms of coaching and tactics, to this guy who's trying to free wheel it I think you can see everyone's just not having him The frustration is that we're putting off the inevitable - He shouldn't make Christmas in all truth Edited 19 November 2024 by CrazyKopCorner 4
Popular Post Claudio Fannieri Posted 19 November 2024 Popular Post Posted 19 November 2024 He has come in to 13/2 with Paddy Power and Betfair so the odds are shortening. My only hope is that we have one or two genuine favourites we are targeting, we remain in dialogue and as soon as there is a definite agreement with our preferred choice to take over we will sack Cooper and replace him immediately. I know we, me included love to complain about the club and how it’s run, and the current mob are far from perfect, however I am hopeful that they have learnt from the Rodgers fiasco of waiting too long and also seemingly not having a replacement in position to step in. IIRC when Puel left, Rodgers was appointed within a matter of days, I have a feeling this will be the case this time round, I would not be shocked if Cooper left within the next couple of weeks and RVN, Moyes or even Potter were in place within 72 hours of the sacking. 5
CrazyKopCorner Posted 19 November 2024 Posted 19 November 2024 I'm hoping that the Club have aspirations above merely staying up (although that would be a huge achievement of course), that they do take on board the views of Vardy and one or two other players e.g Winks, Coady and that as there are absolutely no ties with this chump there won't be the long drawn out death rattle of Rodgers last season when he should have gone in early September (at the latest).

I've got 18/1 here. I had O'Neil at 20/1 and he went down to about 2/1 before Ten Hag got the boot. So Cooper is definitely shortening to about the same before Southampton bin Martin (and probably get one of our targets)

Whilst we do knock our board of owners for what is largely perceived to be an ongoing failure of a project, it’s a highly competitive world. I personally would have given Rodgers the boot earlier, however I would have done the same for Pearson when it started to go wrong leading up to Deeney day. Sometimes that faith in a coach pays dividends and sometimes it’s catastrophic. Rodgers was already being lined up by Vichai I believe to take over from Puel when the accident happened. Unfortunately those conversations were accelerated. Football is a murky business. Conversations clearly go on between clubs and agents. The club will have a rough idea of what the want, skills matrix etc I just think in Cooper they appointed a person with the wrong footballing philosophy. He’s clearly had success at Championship level but he isn’t right for the players we have here. We need someone that is going to manage the egos and players respect ultimately. When we talk about a coach not being good enough, it’s actually more than that in reality. It’s the entire team of coaching staff. That is why at the top level, you now see a complete change. Enzo had an entire team when he arrived, which all left with him. Maybe Coopers flaw is just that? https://www.lcfc.com/teams/staff/men?lang=en

Happy Fox Posted 19 November 2024 Posted 19 November 2024 Interesting timing suggests his days are numbered. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c1dp9vwvy1wo Steve Cooper has a "brutal and unforgiving" job as Leicester City boss, says award-winning football writer Henry Winter. Chants of "Cooper, Cooper sort it out" were sung by sections of Foxes fans as they succumbed to a 3-0 defeat at Manchester United before the international break. Leicester have won just two of their 11 Premier League matches since being promoted back to the top flight. Enzo Maresca took Leicester up from the Championship, with Cooper replacing the Italian after he left for the Chelsea job. Winter says there remain "raised expectations" at the King Power Stadium after the club sensationally won the Premier League title eight years ago and adds that Foxes fans "remain to be convinced" by the former Nottingham Forest boss. "The criticism will hurt him," Winter, formerly of The Times and The Daily Telegraph, told BBC East Midlands Today. "Managers, they are not robots - they are human beings. What were they singing the other day? 'Cooper, Cooper sort it out'. And that is his job. It's brutal and unforgiving and he has to sort it out." In the video above, Winter also talks about how Saturday's match against Chelsea, and a reunion with promotion-winning boss Maresca, will make for an intriguing test for Leicester.

Think a lot more hurtful things could shout than "sort it out." "Megson for Bolton" one of my faves the day before he quit and joined them.
