Teachers don't leave at 3pm kids do

Teachers are in effect babysitters and parents to other children.

Being assaulted at work and no method of retaliation.

Speaking to parents about little Johnny who wouldn't hurt a fly gets rewarded by said parents.

In addition they act a social worker, Admin, teacher, driver and other duties.

The other half regularly works nightly until 9/10pm unpaid.

No money from the academy to purchase supplies.

System is broken and at breaking point.

Not to worry, the VAT charged on private school fees will raise enough cash to hire 6,500 new teachers to spread around 30,000 schools.

I think we should just pay children to teach themselves. We could close all the schools and turn them into either prisons or immigration detention centres.

Right out of the movie "Children of Men".  Dystopian Reality.

not trying to be funny, but why doesn’t your other half just leave?   Better to leave on your own terms rather than you have been beaten down to a breaking point…

Teaching is a low paid job, where you have to look after children. It’s a nightmare I’d imagine.

Then you throw the handling of the parents into the mix.

It’s a cauldron for disaster.

I know a teacher left quite high paid secondary school job to work in a special needs school for less money, however said best decision ever. Students have their own challenges, but are always still very respectful at the same time. Easier to work with and easier to reason with. Parents also very helpful and grateful for the support.

As one teacher said, too many do gooders getting involved when they don't know the facts. Most who make the decisions have never faced hardship or challenges of bad behaviour child.

She's not at breaking point however there is not enough staff to support the schools adequately. Which is huge concern.

I worked for the NHS for quite a few years and I left for the same reasons - to preserve my mental health and to protect my family life.

im glad she’s not at breaking point- I just hope she doesn’t wait until she is, if it gets worse..

What has this turned into? The teacher shag’athon or general news?

Feel free to add to or change the subject matter as needed, then, I guess. :)

NB. I'm pretty sure that nothing has been said about teachers here in the last page or so that isn't true.

I wonder if they will ever find out what really happened to her ?

I hope so for her family's sake, regardless of how people feel about her parents leaving her I can't begin to imagine the torture they must have gone through for all this time not knowing, they need closure one way or another.

Putin hinting at nuclear weapon use, again. This time trying to convince himself that if Ukraine, a non-nuclear state and the victim of his attack, defends itself then it's actually "a nuclear-supported attack".

Honestly, a part of me wants to see him attempt to press the button just so a dozen Russian generals refuse to do it and oust him.
