I was reading something about Badenoch when she was involved in local council stuff, she'd regularly turn up 45 minutes late for meetings lol

Quite normal? She’s Farage without the charisma who just tries to say immigration and identity politics are to blame for everything and offers easy answers. Remember in the last leadership election she was quoting Truss herself with the endless repetitions  of “the zero sum game of identity politics” being her favourite catch phrase.

Didn't she also hack into Harman's email at some point in the past or was that another Tory. They kind of blur tbf.

Saw a great quote either here or somewhere else yesterday which kind of encapsulated the mess that the Torys have got themselves into here, with her and Jenrick and how split the Tory party is now.

Went something along the lines that they've got one candidate that half the party are worried doesn't believe a word he's saying and another candidate that the other half of the party are worried does believe every word she is saying. What a choice.

I also see the latest incarnation of the One Nation Tories have today said they won't back either candidate.

Whoever wins the members vote won't be leader come the next General Election.

Interesting story.

Entered the country illegally after being denied asylum in France and Germany.

"Lost" his identity documents.

Within months of arriving committed assault, then committed a further five offences of assault.

But was somehow still in the country and free to try and kill someone on the tube.

Great stuff.

You likely gained no enjoyment from the experience thereby rendering it more of a service on your part. So no.

To think I used to get to see most home games when I was on the pitch side medical team. Happier times back in 2016-2020.

No chance of being deported after serving sentence I suppose

Given her likely contribution I’d say her missing large chunks of the meetings can only be positive

What are the genuine benefits that Jenrick thinks leaving the ECHR will bring to the country? It just seems like an electoral/cultural ploy to distract from actual important stuff.

Benefits? Take back control innit.

Completely different company.

It's a common mistake.

My bad, indeed they are.

Keep thinking the Postmen/Postwomen doing their rounds are employed by the Post Office, and admittedly have done for some time..

Basically to forcibly deport people to any land that will have them without them being able to have any legal comeback on the matter.

At least that’s the idea.

Alright, but what about the shit they've put in the water then, eh? And you try catching a train from Harbs to Leicester these days.

https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefings/cbp-8062/

So just under 4,000 foreign offenders were removed from the UK last year, the highest number in four years.  However as of Sept 2023 there were still almost 12,000 offenders liable for deportation in the UK.  Looks like the Home Office needs to pull their fingers out.

Seems that some countries in the EU are doing that anyway. Probably due to the recent shift to the right. ECHR perhaps doesn't apply and, if that's the case, why can't the UK do the same without leaving?

Confused boomers believe anything with the word 'European' in is a plot against Britain.

I keep getting corrected/interrupted by people when speaking about 'other European countries' to be told "We are not European, we left Europe."

Unbelievable Jeff.

There's lots of benefits.

No need for workers rights, legal rights, human rights.

It leaves the door open for another dictator like Hitler to give to power. That was the point of them.

See this for a quick lesson for those that get their news from the right wing press.

100% worth it if it stops Jonny Foreigner filling in the workforce for roles where underpaid British people don’t want the jobs.

Interesting one for Biden & Starmer & co right now. Either they believe in the provision and utility of the United Nations or they dont and see the United Nations as aiding and abetting terrorism.
